[videoblogging] New Sorenson Squeeze out today (v4.5)

2006-11-16 Thread Rick Rey
Hey folks,

I just noticed that Sorenson Squeeze 4.5 was released today. It now
supports the h.264 codec for Quicktime... also PSP and 3GP transcoding
out of the box. It's reportedly a lot faster. And with plugins it can
encode Flash video (FLV) with the On2 VP6 codec, and WMV on the Mac.
It's available for Mac and Windows. I'll be giving it a try later.
I've been looking for a good batch compression solution for a long
time. If anyone else is interested:

Excellent. Squeeze is the best compression engine I've found for MS. All
it was missing was h.264

Looks like it's not available for MacOS X on Intel processors.

I'm still waiting on the Universal Binary for 3ivx as well.
