I just fired up Knoppix (Live CD based on Debian GNU/Linux) and it
worked just fine in VLC as Josh said.

Does anyone use Linux and wouldn't mind checking it out for me? I
don't want to leave anyone out in the cold just because they choose an

Too bad you can't digitize hugs or hugs for help would be a great
business model. Only 22 days left- see ya soon.

[videoblogging] Re: Anyone on Linux?

2006-04-06 Thread David Howell
I would love to know what people running Linux use for their editing.
I've played with a few Linux NLE's and had problems with all of them.
More than likely the problem was user error though.

Please...Linux video Gurus...speak up!

What tools are you using to watch vlogs? I've got PenguinTV going for
my vlogs. What are you using for watching the video? Editing?

There are a few Open Source and Linux NLE's but I don't have my
reference with me right now since I'm at work. They all looked
interesting and promising at the time I first looked at them but
they also still looked like they were in very early Alpha or Beta
stages of development. I think that at the time I was looking into
it there were even a couple of AfterEffects type programs out there.
If I can find the list I had I'll post them later.
