Yeah depending on your style of vlog, and what devices you own, theres quite a few simple options: mobile phone straight to net or via a computer video camera to net via computer maybe something to do very basic editing maybe something to recompress But mostly the apps that describe them selves as easy all-in-one vlogging solutions, are going for the webcam users. They need some app to capture from the camera, or a site that allows video capture straight to the service, via flash browser plugin & a media server at the services end. I was pleased to see that for Leopard mac users, the built-in photobooth records video. But I found the performance of this app left something to be desired, capture wasnt great in the framerate department, but I might have been doing something wrong I suppose. What a crazy and interesting world it would be if even 50% of the people who have webcams actually used them for such things. Im certainly glad Im not a company trying to sell such apps, I would think the market may be more dissapointing than they may have expected, for so many reasons. I havent tried it but it reminds me of Vlog It! which had a similar idea of what vlogging is. Now that product didnt get an easy ride on this group, since then I see the creators, Serious Magic, got bought by Adobe. Certainly we know that vlogging can mean a lot of things, a lot of stuff that has little to do with what these apps offer. But I think things like the level of participation in this style by lots of people on youtube, does show it has merit. Its more like 'non-realtime video conferencing' or TV autocue bluescreen stuff than what we think of as vlogging, but its all very legit and it will suit some people's needs I guess. So many discussions and disagreements here over the years due to just how widely or narrowly the term videoblog or vlog can be interpreted, sure wish we had more words for this stuff. You don't even need a video editing program. - Andreas Den 10.01.2008 kl. 13:06 skrev Chris <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: >> i checked it out. apparently it's *all* the software you need to "vlog" > > Other than a web browser, isn't a video editing program pretty much > all the software you need to vlog? > > Chris > -- Andreas Haugstrup Pedersen http://www.solitude.dk/
