Re: [videoblogging] Re: Quicktime Weirdness
Hi Again Everyone, I'm sending this plea for help out again because while I was able to convert my video from .wmv to .mov using a third-party program, it was not at the quality that I would have liked, and I would like to get my money's worth from QT Pro. That being said, anyone who can help me with suggestions on what the problem might be would be heroes in my book. Thanks for dealing with my badgering, Tim realitysandwich.wordpress.com January 6, 2008: Hi Everyone, OK - so I've been gone for a while, and i thought everything would be fine if I jumped right back in to vlogging. Well it turns out something is happening to my videos when I create them as .avi files on Windows media player and then convert them to .mov on QT Pro. Nothing is ever as easy as yout hink. It gets all fuzzy, pixelates, and even breaks down at certain times, and the sound quality diminishes at some points to loud static. I am sure I am not the first one to have this problem, and it may have been dealt with before, but right now I am trying to get my first Semanal video posted and I don't have the patience to search the list. Anyone who can help me please...HURRY! I'm so dramatic. Happy Saturday!

If youve been out of vlogging the past year, there's been quite a few updates since then. I suspect you have a codec problem. Just a few thoughts. 1. I'd download a copy of MPEG Sreamclip, import the .avi to .mov to see if that helps. 2. Or you could bring it into Windows Movie Maker2 and export it out as DV - avi. Then bring it into QT Pro. I wouldn't convert anything using Windows Media Player. Have you tried Flip4Mac. It takes a WMV and converts it to .mov. Just a thought. --- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, Gena [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I suspect you have a codec problem. Re: [videoblogging] Re: Quicktime Weirdness
I have always converted my movies using Windows Movie Maker (which is what I meant in the first e-mail but was rushing when I typed it - must remember to proofread e-mails) into QT Pro. It is my only option, and it is what I'm used to. It's never given me a problem before. I did convert it as a DV-AVI first. I should have been more clear about that the first time. Thanks Gena. No problem, I'm trying to upload for Semanal as well and as you can see you are not the only one with slippery fingers. Hmmm. Did you add a new program that has overtaken a file extension? Another thing I would look at is the QTP export settings. Was something changed or reverted back to a prior setting? That dang Real Player comes to mind. I think think MPEG Streamclip can bale you out of your worries. Don't worry, you'll make it.
