this is the camera i would also highly recommend. it has audio in and out, does widescreen and it's cheap!!! rocks as a DV deck or a keep-in-your-bag-at-all-times camera. You´re right about the value for money, I would just like two more things: a threaded lens (so I could use a cheap wide angle adapter), and an acessorie shoe (so I could use a rode videomic, the mic in is in the camera). What could you recomend with those features? Also, when there is no audio out for headphones, is there a way to use the A/V out? Anyone tried that? Miguel.

Yeah, I picked up a Canon ZR800 (which has audio input) earlier this year for about $150 - super-cheap for a small simple camera.
