[videoblogging] Re: videos shot by cell phones

2006-04-26 Thread xicastmedia

With a XiCast account, you receive an address to send your videos to.

>From you phone, select the video you recorded. Depending on the model
of your phone, there should be a Send option in the menu.

Enter the address provided. Select send now.

You're done.

You can also include additional text in the message and subject which
are carried over to your blog post.

Within about 30 seconds, subscribers to your blog will begin receiving
emails notifying them of your new post.

That's how we do it at XiCast, though.

Does anyone know of a phone which you may load video onto from another device? Say, from an Archos Gmini 402 camcorder? I'd like to shoot with my Gmini, then remotely upload using a phone. Is this possible yet?

Re: [videoblogging] Re: videos shot by cell phones

2006-04-26 Thread Mike Hudack

If your camera supports bluetooth you should be able to send the video to the phone if it's in a compatible format (most all phones will support 3gp and 3g2, some will support MPEG-4 or even Real) and then send it from the phone to blip or another host.
Without BT, though, I'm not sure it would work. I'm not aware of any phones right now that support file transfer via USB (except for music). If anyone does it, though, my guess would be that it'd be a Nokia phone.

Also some phones (like the Nokia I mentioned before) have a media card.
Mine uses a Reduced-size MultiMediaCard (MMC). But I use BlueTooth to

Most current mobile phones can be used as a modem (the RAZR is quite
capable, but slow) if that's what you're refering to.

But directly from a video camera, not yet.

My phone (LG CU320) also uses memory card -- I believe it's called a
Transflash (or microSD) card. It's tiny, but it comes with an SD
adapter -- you stick the Transflash card in the SD adapter, and then
you can stick that into a memory card reader. I do that, vs. sending
via bluetooth, to transfer files to/from my computer, since it's
easier and faster.

[videoblogging] Re: videos shot by cell phones

2006-04-25 Thread daweedrex

I seriously doubt mine is anyone's favorite - but I pretty much create my vlogs using a Treo 650. My video blog is located at: www.davidleeking.com/etcIt's actually quite fun - I have the Treo with me pretty much all the time, so I'm experimenting with what I can do - the two biggest problems so far? audio (the sound's not very good quality) and the video can be pretty basic at times, too (so why am I doing this with my cell phone again? :-) )David--- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, "dinarebecca" [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi there! If so, let me know...we are working on a cool project related to cell phone videos...you can reach me here or at dinaATblip.tv. Thanks! Dina (from blip)

Because you can... I'm on my way to work, so I don't have time
actually check out your stuff... but, the fact that you're doing
something hardly anyone else is, is reason enough to do it.

Great! Thanks so much I will take a look - and I think it's a very
cool technology so hopefully the phones will improve soon! :)
