[videoblogging] Rocketboom in Widescreen?

2006-02-21 Thread Ms. Kitka
I was wondering. Today's RB episode is in Widescreen (the site .mov
file as well as the iTunes file)... so is RB catering to the new video
iPod screen size or did they just feel like broadcasting in widescreen
for the fun of it?

Curious,
Kitka

Yep, we got the Sony HD HC-1. We actually got it about three weeks ago but I have been too afraid to use it. I got a wide angle lens for it, which is what today's episode was shot in, rendered down to 480x270.And yep, downgraded to 3ivx. I am playing around with h264 but haven't found a sweet spot yet. I didn't even think about it, but yea Kitka, it makes since with all the rumors we have been hearing about a new video ipod. It would be a coincidence though, I haven't heard a thing except rumors on Engadget.I kinda like the widescreen, but I can't tell if it feels like something is missed from the 320x240 feel. I felt the same way when we made the jump from 240x180.  . .On Feb 21, 2006, at 11:31 AM, Ronen wrote: Downgraded HD?  Looks to me like they bought a new HD camera for their future pay-service, and began using it, and we're seeing the 'standard' downgraded version.Yes/no?On 2/21/06, Ms. Kitka [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I was wondering.  Today's RB episode is in Widescreen (the site .mov file as well as the iTunes file)... so is RB catering to the new video iPod screen size or did they just feel like broadcasting in widescreen for the fun of it?
