what amazes me is that compared to trying to teach an adult, my son just
gets it - and demands to know more detailed how-to. And, shows me keyboard
short-cuts I never even thought use. I walked away from the editing for a
minute and I came back and he had figure out how to change the title
animations without me showing him. He's just a natural and no fear.

very cool!
my 3 1/2 year old daughter, sophie, is now into taking pictures and video
with a handmedown casio camera.
she knows how to use it as if it were a kids toy.
she basically knows how to plug it into the puter, and opens pics/vids by
herself as well.
we'll leave things at that for now (except for her performance art that
she
asks me to record ;).
i think because sophie doesnt watch TV (only occasional approved videos),
she gets her 'video' satisfaction from watching and now making home videos
more than other kids we know. or not. either way its interesting to see.

My son, Harry, who is 8, has been a little obsessed with being a green

and the video blogging. So, I've been having fun making media with him.
I've been teaching him editing - but haven't yet allowed him to use the
software - trying to get him to focus on art of editing. So, the most
recent we made - we did a director's cut where he explains the
process.
At the end, he shares some lessons learned about about video editing ...
