Re: [videoblogging] should youtube just start a new brand for Pro Content?
i think it can be wedged while also being separated. an example would be a google search where you are presented with top youtube video results first. I think Youtube knows they benefit from mixing it all together. Videobloggers/regular people are thousands of clips every hour helping grow their library and search ability. Commercial content then wedges itself in between all this. You even see advertising/promotion/pro-content feeling more amateur so it has a whiff of authenticity. By making a Pro/Commercial siteit lets me know here is where they will try to sell me on stuff. it wont feel like a cool playground anymore where anything can happen. I have always hated arbitrary pro user/amateur categories. Its a continuum, not two groups, and a nonlinear continuum at that. So while I see your point, I hope for things going AWAY from further categorization of this type. -- ___ Brook Hinton film/video/audio art www.brookhinton.com studio vlog/blog: www.brookhinton.com/temporalab [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

If they decide to separate 'pros' from 'amateurs' all they need to do is re-design the home page and add a 'pro' content tab or preference cookie. -- Jacek Artymiak http://devGuide.net Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=50168432081 Twitter: http://twitter.com/devguide RSS Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/devguide-net Our latest book: vi(1) Tips: Essential vi/vim Editor Skills, 1st ed. http://www.devguide.net/books/vitips1
