2007-03-08 Thread Robyn Tippins
Could we employ a search feed for this?

Maybe something like this could be done with Yahoo pipes?

Steve Garfield and I were just discussing the best way to track
the videos
 produced for videoblogging week 2007.

Last year the problem with technorati was that it took forever for
the posts
to actually go through their system and be collected.

adding tags is the logical idea but we need the tagging system to
grab the
media, repackage it into a feed and make sure that it is up to
date at least
 to the hour.

Technorati worked for me last year as well.. I just pinged them, and it
showed up. Didn't take too long.

I honestly dont know why so many people were having problems with
 Technorati picking up their post?

Each time after I posted a VBW 2006 video last year, I pinged
Feedburner and then Technorati. My post was in Technorati within 10 or
 15 minutes.

As in all things, the K.I.S.S. method generally works.

  any services/sites already do this?

we could have a wiki and have people add their posts there, but i doubt
everyone would do it and it would be nice to get an RSS feed out of
 it all.

  any developers wanna new project?

 about
creating an video blogging week 2007 group and we can post

what if we have a group blogger blog
and all upload to our blip accounts (or if you don't have
 onewe
   make a
group one)
and we crosspost to the blog.

make a feedburner feed for the blog
and people can subscribe to that.

only that breaks permalinks to your personal blog
which is kinda blah

Although, I think technorati tagging has improved since
 last
   year. At
 least,
I know it was used successfully at a conference last fall

 photos,
   and such
that the tag made the top of technorati and flickr's most
 popular
   lists.

So just the normal tagging might work fine.
