[Videolib] J'Accuse that they may live (1938) by Abel Gance
Does anyone (Jessica???) know if this has been/will be released in a better version than the DVD-R made from the VHS put out by Video Yesteryear? Looks like there's a decent version of the 1919 silent film available but I can't find anything better than this DVD-R. Is there any interesting backstory on the rights or something?? Thanks! This would definately have been GATTED so it is basically NOT a legal copy. I suspect it is owned by one of the major French companies who have been slow to license or release their titles but am pretty sure I can find out. Also make sure to get the Flicker Alley copy of the 1919 verison, it is far more than decent. I will check and get back to you on rights holder for later version On Mon, Sep 30, 2013 at 12:03 PM, Sarah E. Bob Harris had this out through his company in 16mm. It's not as good as silent version.
