[Videolib] streaming video funding
Greetings all, I want to thank everyone who wrote to me, some great conversations were started. I heard from 6 libraries. 5 fund their streaming video out of library funds, 1 gets money from a foundation/friends group in addition to library funds. The types of libraries were all different (CCs to ARL research). Greetings all, I've been asked to do some research on how other academic libraries fund their streaming media collections (both video and audio). Are you collections... - Paid for through library funds only? - Departments/Disciplines cost share (or do departments/programs/disciplines purchase outright specific titles?) - Shared costs with IT? Distance Ed? Academic Technology? - Supported with Friends/Foundation/Grant money? - Other ideas In the spirit of full disclosure, I am trying to prove the need/good for centralized shared funding and purchasing. [Videolib] TEACH act implementation for distance ed video
Hi all, Has anyone implemented the TEACH Act successfully for distance ed video (specifically full movies on your LMS system)? The stuff I am finding says "no full movies" but it is some years old.
