[Videolib] FW: German Film "Im Labyrinth des Schweigens"
Dear CW The German film "Im Labyrinth des Schweigens," is to be the official German entry for Oscar best foreign film, whenever the Oscars are this spring. Will the film be released in the US, with subtitles, so everyone can see it well beforehand? Do you think this will be the case? Is there any way at all to say when the film might appear here? Do the Oscar nominated films get released on DVD before the Oscars or soon after? Thank you in advance for any information. Eileen Karsten Head of Technical Services Donnelley & Lee Library Lake Forest College 555 N. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
Re: [Videolib] FW: German Film "Im Labyrinth des Schweigens"
FYI there are about 100 films submitted in the foreign film category. Most are never released in the US but there is no exact pattern for either theatrical or DVD but the high end ones like this tend to be released before nominations ( but rarely this early) in theaters and then after Oscars on DVD. Sony Classics is the major player in this and they also have this year's favorite SON OF SAUL which they will open in December. Beat me to it while I was typing. It will be playing around the US and has English titles. I would estimate the US home video release for March/April. The theatrical distributor is Sony Classics On Mon, Oct 5, 2015 at 9:29 AM, Sebastian Stoppewrote: > Dear Eileen, > > according to IMDb the film has been released on September 30, 2015 in > the United States.
