The CVS repository holds the patched Vim 7.0. I'm updating it myself.
Edward Fox updates the SVN repository. I don't know if he does this
from CVS or from patches, the result should be the same.

Thus both CVS and SVN should have the same version, it's up to you to
decide which one you want to use.

I believe there is no definitive answer to this question. Bram is
on vacation now, so

(1) The CVS vs. SVN question will not be settled for another month or
two.

(2) In the mean time, it makes little difference because no more patches
will be released until Bram finishes vacation, starts his new job with
Google, and catches up on his e-mail backlog.

I think the most official version of the vim sources is ftp.vim.org
. I plan to update my vim 7.0 code from

ftp://ftp.vim.org/pub/vim/patches/7.0/

There is a README file there with instructions.

I tried it. Seems to work mostly, but it has forgotten my ssh key, need
to type my password for every change and tag command... Perhaps it's a
matter of waiting, the message mentions the new system comes up today.

Just FYI. When I tried to update the CVS root in cvsmenu.vim, my SSH
keys works for ezytools.cvs.sf.net (after retrieving the new host
key). I used CVSNT, PuTTY, and pageant on Windows.

The system apparently was not ready yet, it's working OK now. And it's
faster.

I'm checking in the patches one by one. Not sure if that is really
needed, but if I do all patches at once it can't be undone when it turns
out it was not a good idea.

CVS service resumed?

Hi all,

It seems that the CVS service of sourceforge.net resumed again. The
host name changed to vim.cvs.sourceforge.net. So what?
