GetLatestVimScripts and compressed scripts

2007-04-03 Thread Guido Van Hoecke
Hi,

I hope to get some calrification about a recent change in vim's
behaviour. I just started using :GetLatestVimScripts and vim now ignores
any *.gz plugin scripts in my ~/.vim/plugin directory. It e.g. does not
source the project.vim.gz script anymore. When I gunzip it, and it gets
sourced. This seems silly, how would :GetLatestVimScripts cause this
behaviour, and how do I fix this?

TIA,

Guido.

2006-05-30 Thread Peter Hodge
Hi,

Just discovered GetLatestVimScripts command, but it doesn't work on my Mac
because I don't have the 'wget' tool. Does anyone know where I could get it
from?

regards,
Peter

Wget just comes with Linux; however, doing a Google search for wget source
yields:

http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/

I have no idea if it compiles ok with Mac OS/x, so best wishes!

You should be able to install it via fink (fink.sf.net)

IIRC GetLatest can be made to work with curl, which is included by
default with
Mac OS X. Poke around in the .vim file and you should see some user-
configurable
options… the command and the command-line parameters should be
explained there.
Just change these to point to curl… you may also have to change the
parameters to

match those of curl instead of wget.

2006-04-29 Thread Hugo Ahlenius
Hi,

I just tried the new GLVS script in Vim 7.0f, I am getting an error:
SNR27_GetLatestVimScripts: Line 125: E486: Pattern not found: ^-
Everything was already current

Am I doing something wrong... ?

(this is on WinXP)
