Re: Weird hard drive issue with SE HDFD

2017-12-17 Thread Aoresteen
Don't give up so easily.

1. Is it the boot drive? I am assuming that it is.

2. I'd use a disk utility to scan the hard drive for errors.

3. If you don't care about the data on the drive I'd re-format it and see
what happens.

Good Luck!

Re: Very old and odd Nubus video card

2017-12-05 Thread Aoresteen
Humm,

The DB-9 reminds me of the Radius One Page Portrait Display for the Mac II
& Mac Plus. I had the Radius Mac Plus OPD back in the day and it used a
DB9 connector.

Also, what density are you looking for? 400K, 800K, or 1.4MB?

Re: SE/30 Fan turns on, but OS won't load

I had Charles re-cap two SE/30 boards & check them out for me a few years
ago. They were doing much like yours are. He did a great job. They now
work great. Highly recommended.

Grijan is right, I'd re-build the desktop first.

How is the date? Did you check the PRAM battery?

Re: What OS Should my Macintosh SE run?

2017-10-09 Thread Aoresteen
True. I'd try re soldering the fly-back transformer & power connectors.

Might as well plan on a re-cap of the logic board as well.
