How does draft mode work in the iOS email app?
I understand the purpose of draft, so you may compose an email and send it later. But what isn't clear to me is why when I reply to someone's email, does my reply sometimes come up as a draft and sometimes as just a simple reply? What am I doing that inadvertently invokes draft mode? And why when my reply is in draft am I unable to send it when I'm finished? Thanks for any clarification. Re: Scrolling up and down with Bluetooth Braille Display
I don't have a braille bluetooth device myself, but from what I've read on list, it sounds to me like the braille support is provided by Apple, which I think would frustrate me a bit. Sure the consistency is nice if I'm jumping from braille device to braille device, but the fact that I couldn't take advantage of the features unique to my device would be annoying. I'd easily put up with the inconvenience of having to learn some new commands if I could take advantage of more advanced features in each device and not settle for the lowest common denominator. If Android opened up these more advanced features then I'd consider that pretty beautiful. On 05/07/2015 01:32 PM, Scott Davert wrote: That's correct, Wayne. Airplane Mode, only wifi
Hi all, I’ve been doing some reading about taking iPhone out of the country. Spacifically, USA to UK. From what I’ve read, the best solution is to turn on airplane mode while in USA. Once in the UK, leave airplane mode on, but turn on wifi. If I understand this correctly, iPhone will be able to connect to wifi, surf, send/receive iMessages, make/receive FaceTime calls. Am I understanding it correctly? :) The one thing I still need to double check is Verizon Canada. If the iPhone’s airplane mode should be turned on even before entering Canada. Hi, from what I've read and heard, the watch will improve that overtime. I wouldn't be too surprised to see it be terribly off for the first workout. The more you use it though in that given situation, it should improve. I'm just basing this off of what I've read and heard, since I don't have a watch myself yet. Re: Airplane Mode, only wifi
Hi Tracy, What you suggest should work. You won't be able to use GPS, though, unless you have an app like Navigon that can download maps beforehand and doesn't depend on downloading them as you go. When I went to Ireland last summer, I paid for an hour of mobile minutes and 120 MB of data so I could use GPS, have my photos geotagged, and someone could reach me by phone in am emergency. Unfortunately, somehow I used way more than 120 MB of data. I'm not sure what happened: I think FaceTime may have switched to using cellular at times without my realizing it. If I ever do that again, I'll turn Airplane Mode and Wi-Fi on before making FaceTime calls to be sure that doesn't happen. I'm on ATT, if that matters. Am I understanding it correctly? :) The one thing I still need to double check is Verizon Canada. If the iPhone’s airplane mode should be turned on even before entering Canada. Thanks, and let me know if you have other suggestions for traveling internationally with a Verizon iPhone. Re: Workout App on Apple Watch
Hi Deb, I'm not sure. I had similar problems with indoor cycling and thought I probably wasn't pumping hard enough. For outdoor walks, I've stopped using the workout app because the number of calories and amount of exercise don't seem to be any different in the activity app whether I'm running the Workout app or not. On the other hand, when I use 7-Minute Workout Pro and run the Workout app, Activity counts it as 7 minutes of exercise, and it doesn't count it that way if the Workout app isn't running. I think the biggest difference when having Workout running is that it checks your heart rate more often, and it uses the phone's GPS when you're doing an outdoor workout to confirm how far you've gone. I think your heart rate has to be way up for it to count as exercise, but I'm not sure how high it has to be. As for watch placement, make sure the band is tight enough that the watch stays still. Also, make sure the watch is on top of your writs. You might try looking at your heart rate during the workout and also sometime when you're not working out to see if the readings make sense. I'm really not sure what else to suggest. I wonder if there are bugs, or whether this app just requires a really high heart rate to count. I wish the user guide provided more detail about how calories burned and level of exercise are counted. What am I doing wrong here? Is there a way to test whether the watch is touching the correct part of your wrist? I'm riding with some tention at a fast pace. I can feel my heart beating much faster and the app shows some definite increase in my heart rate. I also took a brisk walk the other day and again it only gave me a few calories. Any thoughts? -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. All new members to the this list are moderated by default. Re: Workout App on Apple Watch
Yeah I did tighten the watch in the past hour or so and notice that my heart rate went up some. So maybe it's making better contact now and I'm going to try again. I've noticed that the band has stretched some and I'm actually two notches further in than when I first used it. So we'll see if this does make a difference and it might somewhat.
