Does anyone know how I can turn up the sound on my IPad without voiceover's volume being affected too (e.g. when watching videos etc)?

2015-08-04 Thread 'Eleanor Roberts' via VIPhone
Hi all

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before. I was just wondering if
there was a way of adjusting the balance of sound between voiceover and
whatever else I may be listening to/watching on my IPad? For example, if I want
to listen to music, watch videos, or clips on YouTube etc I turn the sound up
on my IPad so I can hear whatever it is. However, this then also means that
voiceover is extremely loud too, which I don't need. So is there a way of me
being able to listen to things on my IPad and turn the sound up without
voiceover's volume being raised as well?

Any suggestions muchh appreciated. Thanks.

2015-08-04 Thread Kimber Gardner
You can use the volume adjustment on the roter to turn down VO to the
level you like. This will adjust VO without changing the volume of
other audio like music or video or whatever.

2015-08-04 Thread Donna
Hi if you go to settings, sounds, and turn off change with buttons, this should
allow you to adjust the volume of music etc without affecting voiceover volume.
You could also use the rotor to adjust voiceover volume while listening to
media files.

are ipads mono sound devices?

2015-08-04 Thread Davy Cuppens

Hi folks

I may use an ipad 3 that belongs to my employer to ease some tasks in my
office that I must do. If I play music with that ipad, I only here mmono. Is
this normal. Does an ipad only have one speaker or are there devices that
are mono and others maybe more expensive stereo devices? When putting in a
heaphone or use bluetooth headphones, I get normal stereo output.

Re: are ipads mono sound devices?

2015-08-04 Thread Chris Smart

still, how much sound quality are you expecting from such a small, thin
device? You can't get around the physics involved - you need to
vibrate large amounts of air that then make your ear drums vibrate
accordingly. So, try plugging in some decent external speakers.

I did this twice now, and it doesn't seem to have made a difference. The
strange thing is I've just heard over the phone that Hannah can select and
deselect numbers, but no way can she roll. She is not getting any possible
moves announcements either whereas I am. We're trying Yatze excuse spelling now
to see if it's a bug with the app itself or just Farkle. It works however if we
play against other people not necessarily on Facebook.

From the Apple web site:
With AirDrop, you can share photos, videos, websites, locations, and more with
people nearby with an Apple device.

What you need
To share content with AirDrop, both people need one of these devices using iOS
7 or later, or a Mac with OS X Yosemite:
iPhone 5 or later
iPad (4th generation) or later
iPad mini
iPod touch (5th generation or later)
You also need to turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. If you want to share with your
contacts, sign in to your iCloud account.

RE: Ear pods

2015-08-04 Thread Merv Keck
Hi,

I ordered the individual who needed a set directly from the Apple store today.
They were $29 plus tax. Since we live in Florida I guess that would be 7% sales
tax. They said free shipping and would probably arrive tomorrow. I ordered them
directly from my iPhone 5S and the information was already stored on the Apple
site except for my three digit security code. The only thing that bothered me
about the whole process is that I have tossed away several sets of these over
the ears because no one in the house ever used them or intended to use them. I
guess sometimes being a pack rat has its advantages, laughs!

Re: Does anyone know how I can turn up the sound on my IPad without voiceover's volume being affected too (e.g. when watching videos etc)?

2015-08-04 Thread Chris Chaffin

You can do this two ways, by turning down the volume of voice over, or by
turning up your sound volume which does not include voice over.
To adjust your sound volume, go to the control center and swipe until you come
to the volume setting.
To adjust the voice over volume, you must first add the volume choice to your
rotor. This can be done in settings, general, accessibility, voice over,
rotor. Once this is done, you can just turn your rotor to volume and flick up
or down to adjust the voice over volume.

Hope this helps,

Chris

 Hi all

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before. I was just wondering if
there was a way of adjusting the balance of sound between voiceover and
whatever else I may be listening to/watching on my IPad? For example, if I
want to listen to music, watch videos, or clips on YouTube etc I turn the
sound up on my IPad so I can hear whatever it is. However, this then also
means that voiceover is extremely loud too, which I don't need. So is there
a way of me being able to listen to things on my IPad and turn the sound up
without voiceover's volume being raised as well?

 Any suggestions muchh appreciated. Thanks.
