We subscribed to Amazon Prime and my husband is watching stuff on his
laptop. Is there an app to do this on the iPhone 6S?

One possible correction, the current version of the app may not create the
group in your contacts, but you can forward your email, double tap in the
message body, select all, then copy, then go to the A2Z app and paste that into
the message body of the email to your group.
Either way it is easier than what you have to do now.

Another idea I have, but haven't gotten to testing is whether I can create a
group in my online msn account that would then be available on my phone. I do
not currently sync Outlook through itunes. I just have the settings on my
iphone set to sync mail and contacts. For my work email account, which I also
have synching to my iphone, I now realize that it pulls in my work contacts but
not the several contact groups. Maybe I'll leverage the IT support team at my

I just did some more testing by creating a new contact group using the A2Z
Contacts app. When I synced my iPhone 7 using iTunes, I noted that this new
contact group shows up as a new Contact folder within Outlook but that
folder is empty and I don't get any usable new contact group for use within
Outlook. Apparently, the way the app currently works with Outlook you'll
have to create contact groups twice, once in Outlook and once in the app,
for contact groups to truly be in sync. This seems a real shortcoming and
I'm scratching my head as to why it wasn't addressed.

group when on my laptop. While the individuals show up in my contacts on my

RE: Needing adapter for older chargers

2017-01-18 Thread Alan Lemly
Terri,

I think the Apple Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter (MD823AM/A) for $19.50 from
Amazon is what you need. This adapter has a male lightning plug on one end to
plug into your iPhone and a 30-pin old-style Apple female port on the other
end. The Amazon description says it's an Apple product and should work for
charging. Here's the link to it at Amazon:

Subject: Needing adapter for older chargers

Hello everyone.

Quite a while back, I asked what type of adaptor I needed, in order to make my
5S work with my older IPod doc.

Well someone told me what exactly I needed. I thought I saved the message. I am
trying to start to do that, in order to not ask the same questions again.

But unfortunately, I don't seem to have the message.

The other day, while at a store, I learned that they had some chargers. They
were affordable, and so I bought 3 of them. Unfortunately, they are the type
for the older IPhones. I certainly would not have purchased them, if I had
known this. But I couldn't view them, due to the packaging.

I unfortunately can not take them back, even though 2 of them were never
opened. But they see them as ellectronics.

So I just figured I would make the best of the situation, and use them.

So if someone could please let me know what exact type of adaptor I need, I
would really appreciate this.

I do wish the charging cords were a bit longer. But my products seem to charge
more quickly with the shorter charging cords.

By the way, with the adaptor on the cord, will this possibly slow down how fast
the product can charge?

Thank you,

Terri

This could be two questions. I have been using a simple text editor called
Droptext to read and write simple notes in Dropbox. However, recently I am
getting notice the app has not been updated and could slow down my device. I am
seeing this also with OOtunes. So, first, I could be looking for a replacement
editor for use with dropbox text files. Or, I do use notes, but I don't know
how to retrieve, read, or edit those on my PC. I do use old Windows and older
JAWs, and don't know when I might upgrade. It is handy to have these notes on
both the Apple and Windows devices.

All thanks for any suggestions.

RE: group distribution in native email account

2017-01-18 Thread Alan Lemly
I just did some more testing by creating a new contact group using the A2Z
Contacts app. When I synced my iPhone 7 using iTunes, I noted that this new
contact group shows up as a new Contact folder within Outlook but that
folder is empty and I don't get any usable new contact group for use within
Outlook. Apparently, the way the app currently works with Outlook you'll
have to create contact groups twice, once in Outlook and once in the app,
for contact groups to truly be in sync. This seems a real shortcoming and
I'm scratching my head as to why it wasn't addressed.

With some regularity I need to forward information to a large group of
people. I added each of the contacts to my Outlook 2010 address book on my
laptop and then added them to a contact group. I can send emails to this
group when on my laptop. While the individuals show up in my contacts on my
phone, the group I created does not - or at least I'm not finding it. On
vacation without my laptop, I added all 30 people one by one to the message
I needed to forward. Please tell me there is an easier way? A google
search on the topic gave me a recommendation of some contacts app that would
aide in this, but I'd rather know if there is a way with my existing native
contacts and email. Maybe downloading the Outlook app is what I need to do?

RE: group distribution in native email account

2017-01-18 Thread Alan Lemly
R Van Lant and Richard,

I'm also running Outlook 2010 and use a2z Contacts on my iPhone 7 for group
management and other features it offers. I can confirm that contact groups I
set up in Outlook 2010 that are included in the contact folder I sync with my
iPhone using iTunes were not picked up in A2Z. I just tested this by creating a
new contact group within Outlook and verifying that it wasn't picked up in the
app. Creating groups using the app isn't difficult but I wish this shortcoming
would be addressed since no one appreciates duplicate effort. I'm not sure what
happens when a contact group is initiated using A2Z followed by an iTunes sync.
I noted that the contact group I just created with A2Z does show up as a
separate folder under Contacts within Outlook 2010 . I'm not sure whether
creating this group in the app using the same name and contents as an existing
Outlook contact group affected the results and need to do some more testing.

One possible correction, the current version of the app may not create the
group in your contacts, but you can forward your email, double tap in the
message body, select all, then copy, then go to the A2Z app and paste that into
the message body of the email to your group.

Either way it is easier than what you have to do now.

If you set up your group in this app, it should create the group in your
contacts so you will be able to forward the information to the group by using
whatever you name the group in the app. For example, I'm in a book group, I
named the group in A2Z Contacts DK. So, I can now compose a message in the
native mail app and put "dk" in the to field. I hope that helps.

No worries you weren't sure exactly what it was called. I will do a search for

Re: Bluetooth Headphone Recommendation

To Chip, they do have play pause or answer calls. They also have a base
control and ability to listen through the microphone to outside sounds. I never
found any use for that. You cannot tell where the sound comes from, so it
hardly seems of any value.

Anna, they do speak the remaining listening time. I believe that is something
you can turn on or off, so maybe you can have it speak more. Frankly, I never
read instructions, so can't answer further on that.

were affordable, and so I bought 3 of them.

Thank you,

Terri

Hi Eric,

Do you get any voice feedback or some audio means to know whether the battery

Thanks so much,

Hey Matthew,

Yes, when you use the threading with Outlook. It is a bit odd. When you double
tap on an email that contains a thread of several mail for the conversation. It
will expand out. At this point I have not been able to find a good solution to
being able to jump from one mail to the next with in the thread. I am having to
swipe like I would normally.

Hello there,

The first question to answer is there a way to adjust the number of lines to
preview with in the Microsoft Outlook for iOS. The answer is no. What you hear
for the preview is what you get. Which is quite a bit and I think is longer
than what Apple Mail gives you. Of course you don't have to do the three
fingers tap to hear the preview this is automatically read to you as you swipe
to the mail on Microsoft Outlook which I love and miss in what Apple ripped
out. Personal preferences of course.

Second question is why would I use Microsoft Outlook over Apple Mail. I almost
have to say you haven't tried this yet I can see. ;)

Well perhaps you did. Again, this is a personal preference. What I love out
Microsoft Outlook for the iOS is that I have many emails and mail boxes. So if
you have the similar issue and hate having to jump in and out of all of your
mail boxes. Outlook offers an All Mail and which I totally love. All of my
emails in all of the mail boxes are displayed on oin one place. No more jumping
around all over the place. The second thing I like is the what is called the
Focus and Others. This is a very simple rule based options that Outlook gives
you to control in what you want to see that is important and not important. For
example, all of the mail that comes in that I do want to see now I have set up
to come in the Focus page. All others non-essential mail goes in to my Other
page. This separate from what I want and those I will deal with at another
time. You teach which mail that you want to go in to the Focus or Other page.
So these essential mail from work goes in to my Focus and the mailing list can
go in to the Other page if you want. The choice is yours. Lastly, under the
file section you can see all of the attachments that you have in all of your
mail boxes. At any time you can simply put them in to various cloud services
like iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, and etc. Yes, Apple Mail has this but what
it doesn't do is that you have a page that shows all of the mail with
attachments and easily can drop them in to cloud drive and vice versa on the
fly.

Overall, I find the experiences on the Outlook smoother and can handle many
mail boxes so much easier. Being able to see everything all in one place really
helps. There are a lot of little things that went in to this design and you
just won't find in the standard Apple Mail. So if you only have just one mail
or maybe two. Don't get a lot of mail. It is probably not for you. For those
with more mail boxes and have to deal with a lot of emails. I really would try
this out. Its free and you have nothing to lose. Which by the way just because
it is Microsoft Outlook isn't just for Outlook accounts or exchanges. It will
work with iCloud, gMail, Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo, and many other services and
custom ones like what Apple Mail offers.

Regards,

Thomas

Shared Files Folder

2017-01-18 Thread Darrin Porter
I just used an ap to convert my contact list into an Excel spread sheet. The
ap informed me that the file was stored in my "shared files" folder and can
be accessed through the "shared files" pane in ITunes. How does one get to
that pane? I can't seem to find it or anything like it.

Alternatively, how can I get the file off of my phone? This question also
applies to a video and several photos that I would like to retrieve as well.
Thanks.

Simple Editor for use with Dropbox

2017-01-18 Thread SSEric

Bluetooth Headphone Recommendation

2017-01-18 Thread SSEric
These have been around four years or so, and I wasn't sure they were being sold
by anyone any longer. However, I just got notice from Amazon that they are
selling the Plantronics backbeat 903 stereo bluetooth headphones for $29. They
are actually selling through a third-party, but it does not state they are used
or refurbished, etc.

These are not quite earbuds. They have a cable that goes behind your head, and
the earpiece lays between your ear and your skll with and arm holding the bud
going around the front of your ear and in. They do not go into the ear canal,
enabling you to hear outside sound. The buds themselves extend and swivel so
that you get the best fit. The sound is actually quite good, and the microphone
isn't bad, either. When they came out, these were priced at the high end, but
then there weren't too many $300 earbuds. I think they are about as good as it
gets for "running – around "earbuds. They hang around your neck and easily can
be slipped into one or both ears. If just for that purpose or for use with
navigation apps, these are very good.

Re: group distribution in native email account

2017-01-18 Thread Richard Turner

One possible correction, the current version of the app may not create the
group in your contacts, but you can forward your email, double tap in the
message body, select all, then copy, then go to the A2Z app and paste that into
the message body of the email to your group.
Either way it is easier than what you have to do now.

Re: mail going in to spam folder

2017-01-18 Thread Jeffrey Shockley
Hello,
What you will have to do is either go on the gMail site and go into the spam
folder and mark it as not spam, it’s a button, or, you’ll have to do it from
within your E-Mail program of choice. That usually seems to solve the problem
for me most of the time.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,

appletv 4gen new tv app single sign on

2017-01-18 Thread Jim Ruby
Hi, anyone tried this? Since my provider is not on the main list
instructions say to go through the tv app such as abc

So I try this and there is no voice over speech after you click to sign on
how disappointing.

The abc app itself stinks too shows don't read any more, all you get is
numbers. I also tried to sign on with other tv apps such as usa and a few
others with the same result...

Looks like apple is taking a step backwards. Also doing it on the iphone
works, but going to the large list it is very slow, but at least it can be
done, but it won't sync to the appletv.

Suggestions? I'm ready to throw it out the door, was going to buy a second
appletv, but going to try something else first rocu maybe.
