Re: Automatic language switching on the Mac

2017-04-10 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Afik,

You’re right that there’s no automatic language switching on the Mac. However,
you can switch languages quickly with VO-Cmd-Down Arrow as long as you always
leave the rotor set to Default Voice.

Cheers,

Anne

RE: Recording Voicemail Greeting

2017-04-10 Thread Mike Ulrich
Go and find a sightling to set it up and tap the appropriate buttons, when
taken out of voice over? Then put it back into voice over once you've made the
recording and you're happy with it.

The sad fact is, even with all the new technologies for the blind, we still
might need a sightling every now and then.?
Whaddya gonna do?

I am wondering if it is possible to record a new Voicemail greeting on the
iPhone without Voiceover.
So far, I have had no luck excluding Voiceover from the recording, even tried
turning it off prior to recording my greeting, but no luck making the recording.
I can call from a landline, to record a new greeting, but would like to do it
from the iPhone if possible.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

If I remember correctly, once you set up a password for encrypted backups,
Apple always uses that password unless you change it, so it doesn't ask for a
password when you do a backup.

Re: Encrypted Back Ups

2017-04-10 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Jim,

If I remember correctly, once you set up a password for encrypted backups,
Apple always uses that password unless you change it, so it doesn't ask for a
password when you do a backup.

Best,

RE: apple pay question

2017-04-10 Thread Jennie Facer
Hi Chris,

To use Apple pay, you have to set up a card to use with it like your credit
card you have on file for Apps. Go to settings to do this. Once it is all set
up, press the home button twice quickly when it is locked and then you can pay
at stores that accept Apple Pay. I hope this helps a little bit.

Encrypted Back Ups

2017-04-10 Thread Jim
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else is having any issues with doing an encrypted
back up? I’m no longer being asked to enter a password to create the back up,
so it just looks like the phone is doing an ordinary back up. I have a couple
of friends having the exact same issue, although they have also tried doing a
restore from one of these back ups, and are asked for a password, even though
they were never asked to enter one.
We are all using the latest IOS along with the latest iTunes, so if anyone can
point us in the right direction as to what we are doing wrong, or if there is
some new trick that we have missed, the information would be greatly
appreciated.

Regards.
Jim.

The At Sign in Braille Screen Input

2017-04-10 Thread Arnold Schmidt
How do I make the at sign in Apple Braille Screen input. In the braille I know,
it is dot 4, but neither this, nor putting a letter sign before it seems to
work. Thanks for any information.

Automatic language switching on the Mac

2017-04-10 Thread afik Suffir

Hello all.

I have MacBook Air 13 inch. On the iPhone SE that I have when VO read the text
in English the English voice talk, and when its texts in Hebrew the Hebrew
voice talks. In the Mac, its not like on the phone. The Hebrew voice read all,
Hebrew, English, and so on, and there is no Automatic language switching.
I really don’t know why, but I must find a solution because its so annoying.

Any ideas?
