Re: Search within iTunes Library Solved

2018-01-01 Thread Victor Gouveia
Hi Sieghard, I found out what was going on.

Under general preferences, I had Apple music features checked, because my
daughter is subscribed to it, once I checked it off, it hasn’t switched to the
store any longer.

Thanks for helping.

Subject: RE: Search within iTunes Library

Hi Victor,

I hadn’t noticed this yet, but it behaves like this for me as well in iTunes
12.7.2. Maybe somebody has figured out how to do this, I’d maybe call Apple
Accessibility because it certainly doesn’t make much sense. It used to be that
pressing enter after you type a search term would search your library and I
think shift+enter would search the store.

Anyhow, for me it’s a minor annoyance since first of all I rarely use iTunes to
play music (I have Sonos) and secondly if I do use it I have it set up to use
the column browser. This allows me to quickly narrow my selection down by
artist and album and then only the songs from the artist or album I selected
are displayed.

To use the column browser you have to make sure you library sidebar selection
is set to “Songs”, then you can go to the view menu and show/enable the column
browser.

Regards,

Sieghard

Subject: Search within iTunes Library

Hi Folks,

I am using iTunes version 12.5.5 or something like that, and trying to do a
search within my library. I am pressing control+F to go to the search edit
field, typing in my search criteria, then pressing enter when I’m done typing.

The problem is that once I press enter, the search results don’t show me what
I’m searching for in my library, but what’s in the store.

I am clearly in the music library, and the library is checked when I perform my
search, however, when I press the enter key, the checkbox switches over to
Store, and does not stay in my library.

After I’ve pressed enter, and I re-check the box for my library, the search
field goes blank and I have to re-type my search criteria, but again, upon
pressing enter, the process starts anew.

Anyone know what’s going on?

Anyone have a possible fix for this?

Victor

RE: Clearing recents?

2018-01-01 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Tom,

As far as I know you can’t clear all recently used email addresses at once. If
you are composing an email and start typing and a suggestion for somebody is
made whom you don’t want, there is a “More” button next to email addresses
which are not in your contacts. If you double tap this button and then do a
4-finger tap near the bottom of the screen to move to the last element on the
screen you’ll land on a button called “Remove from Recents”, double tap it and
that email address will be removed.
For example, if you type “John” in the to field and then check your suggestions
you may find a number of them, any which have the “More” button can be removed
from recents this way.

Re: Apple Apologizes After iPhone Battery Slowdown Controversy | Time

2018-01-01 Thread Eric Oyen
I agree with this.
back when I had a windows smartphone on T-Mobile, I had to spend about $480 for
mobile speak from code factory. the phone was not accessible any other way and
the android flavors at that time had interface issues that broke accessibility
rather routinely. So, when Apple not only spread the cost of R across the
entire user base, but brought accessibility into the mainstream, they changed
the entire playing field. Basically, Google (the creators of Android OS) were
forced to do the same thing. So, apple forced the market to accede to user
wishes.

Sure, Apple made a ton of money at it. So what? that is the function of
business, to provide a service or good and at a profitable price.
