Re: How to Add Books to VDR Using File Browser Option?

2018-08-10 Thread dani pagador
The zipped folder has .mp3 files. The files play in VDR. I've pulled
zipped-up folders in to VDR through DropBox with no problems. I pulled
one of the zipped-up folders in through DropBox that I'm trying to
pull in from the Cloud and the transfer happened with no problems.

Re: Sonos problem

2018-08-10 Thread Marie
I had my Sonos One all set up to enable Alexa and it was working fine. Then One
day I was lowering the volume of the speaker with the slider on the touch
screen and Alexa just stopped working on the speaker. I have searched the app
and the Sonos site with no luck finding a solution.

I can no longer find a way to reach Sonos via phone for support which is
extremely irritating. I have a problem which is not addressed on any of the
links I can locate within their website. So if anyone has a phone number for
them, I would be very grateful to know it.
Thanks, Marie

Re: bluetooth keyboard recommendation

2018-08-10 Thread Arlene
Travis, one of the bluetooth keyboards we have is the black webb keyboard. It
says it was made for the ipad, but we use it with our se iphones, and it's
really great to use with our phones, and you could buy it at Walmart for $20.
It's a very sturdy feeling keyboard, and we both enjoy typing on it.

Thanks. I have a Logitech wireless keyboard, and am fine with it. I'll watch
prices as I don't want to spend $100 for certain on it. I'm seeing bluetooth
keyboards on Amazon for as low as $13.99, but the more expensive ones do seem
to be rated higher overall.

Are you sure they contain files that can be read by VDR?
If you email one to yourself, can you open it in VDR?
What kind of files are inside the zip file?

Hi, Everyone.

I have tried using the Select button and have had no luck with that

I know the file is playable because I tried downloading the same file

File Browser option.

What am I missing? Please help this old dog learn a new trick.

RE: Sharing Voice Dream Reader Pronunciation Dictionaries

2018-08-10 Thread Carolyn Arnold

Subject: Sharing Voice Dream Reader Pronunciation Dictionaries

I've been using Voice Dream Reader and trying to find a good place to talk
about it and this seems to be one of the few places it ever gets discussed.

I've found that there are huge problems with the default pronunciations that
apply to ALL voices used. I would've originally thought that there would be
voice based differences in pronunciation but there does not appear to be. I
even got some of the different voices _specifically_ to see if the
pronunciation was better.

I'm Australian and I hear the same problems in the Australian voices and all
the British and American ones.
Even though I'm Australian I'm used to hearing British and American TV all the
time and the program does not pronounce things even vaguely normally for those
countries either.

Given the severity of the problem I presumed there would be a website somewhere
where people were sharing their personal Pronunciation Dictionaries to fix all
these mistakes but apparently no-one even talks about sharing them as far as I
can see.
(I was looking for this prior to putting huge amounts of work into my own, to
save duplication!)

For examples (I'll try and dig up others later)

bringer is always pronounced to rhyme with fringer instead of ringer like it
should be.
black-eyed or black-eyes is always pronounced blackies (That one makes me
cringe)

I'd imagine someone out there has a personal dictionary that's a few pages long
and includes regexes and all kinds of things, and yet this topic seems to go
undiscussed?

Anyway, at the very least is someone starts searching for the same issue
hopefully they'll find this from now on!

Thanks,
Evan

Sonos problem

2018-08-10 Thread Marie
I can no longer find a way to reach Sonos via phone for support which is
extremely irritating. I have a problem which is not addressed on any of the
links I can locate within their website. So if anyone has a phone number for
them, I would be very grateful to know it.
Thanks, Marie

Re: bluetooth keyboard recommendation

2018-08-10 Thread Kwork
Thanks. I have a Logitech wireless keyboard, and am fine with it. I'll watch
prices as I don't want to spend $100 for certain on it. I'm seeing bluetooth
keyboards on Amazon for as low as $13.99, but the more expensive ones do seem
to be rated higher overall.

A couple of years ago I purchased a Logitech K810, I’ve been very happy with

Re: Anyone here who uses the Google Inbox app?

2018-08-10 Thread Nimer Jaber
When you create a bundle, you are pretty much creating a filter. All
e-mails from your inbox get bundled into this bundle that you choose, as it
learns, over time, what types of e-mails you want to include.

Thanks.

Re: Anyone here who uses the Google Inbox app?

2018-08-10 Thread Daniel McGee
 Hello

Well when creating your own bundle. I seem to get confused about the
settings for the bundle.

For example, when it says: bundle messages in the inbox Am I right in
thinking that whatever filters you have setup, they go into the main inbox
of the app?

Sorry but I can't explain it any better than this but I hope it somewhat
makes sense.

You see, I would really like to be able to understand the concept of how
Google Inbox is suppose to work but at the moment. I feel like I'm not
getting it.

Re: BARD and Personal Hotspot Not Getting Along

2018-08-10 Thread Anna Dresner
Hi Danny,

By default, BARD Mobile doesn't download over the cellular network because at
11 MB per hour, doing so chews through a lot of data. However, if you want to
download books over the cellular network, you can turn on this option. Open
BARD Mobile, choose Settings, and then choose User Account Settings. Turn on
"Download over mobile network."

Best,

RE: Disappearing native iOS mail app

2018-08-10 Thread Debby
Hi Cristobal,

I don’t have any amazing ideas, but have you tried rebooting the phone? Shut it
down and wait for 30 seconds or so and turn it back on?

Good luck!

Subject: Disappearing native iOS mail app

Hello list,

Using Voiceover on an iPhone SE running iOS 11.4.1. I am writing today as
yesterday evening, I noticed that the native mail app which I keep in the third
position from left to right on my phone’s dock has gone missing. I did not
accidentally delete or move it as I have gone through my different screens and
folders and it’s not showing up anywhere.

If I do a spotlight search, the app shows up. Same if I go to the app store and
type in “mail”. It will appear with eh “open button”: indicating that it is
still on my phone. I still get incoming mail alerts and when one does show up,
I can double tap through and be placed in the corresponding message and
navigate the app as normal. It also appears in the app switcher.

At this point, I am at a loss with what to try next.

Any help or ideas on how to restore this app would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Cristobal

Disappearing native iOS mail app

2018-08-10 Thread Cristobal Muñoz
Hello list,

Using Voiceover on an iPhone SE running iOS 11.4.1. I am writing today as
yesterday evening, I noticed that the native mail app which I keep in the
third position from left to right on my phone’s dock has gone missing. I did
not accidentally delete or move it as I have gone through my different
screens and folders and it’s not showing up anywhere.

If I do a spotlight search, the app shows up. Same if I go to the app store
and type in “mail”. It will appear with eh “open button”: indicating that it
is still on my phone. I still get incoming mail alerts and when one does
show up, I can double tap through and be placed in the corresponding message
and navigate the app as normal. It also appears in the app switcher.

At this point, I am at a loss with what to try next.

Any help or ideas on how to restore this app would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Cristobal

Re: Sounds.

2018-08-10 Thread Richard Turner

More than likely, you have sounds in the rotor and it is turned to sounds and
you are accidentally flicking up or down, toggling sounds on and off.
You could turn the rotor to check this. You could also go into settings and
unselect sounds in the rotor.
 HTH,
 Richard

bank of America App Fixed

2018-08-10 Thread Les Kriegler
Hi All,

I downloaded an update to Bank of America’s app. The ability to explore by
touch when completing the payment screen appears to be working again. I
haven’t looked at the transfer screen yet, but I’m hopeful that will work
properly as well now. If you do encounter problems, please report it here, and
of course to Bank of America. Thanks.

Les
