RE: Is there any way to record sound on Iphone?

2019-02-24 Thread Bill Outman
Hi, Kayla.

I used the Voice Memos app on my iPhone to record myself doing a demonstration
of a task for a friend. It was about entering phone numbers into contacts, the
specific problem being adding an access code for a conference call number using
the shift key on the key pad to insert commas for spacing between the phone
number dialed and entry of the access code and the concluding # sign. Voice
Memos picked up all my VoiceOver actions and sounds from the phone in addition
to my voice.

I don't know about recording other media that is playing on the phone, if the
Voice Memos app will always pick that up because it is ambient sound, or if
other apps and media files have built in protection against that in order to
prevent violating copyright. Haven't tried it, so I don't know, but I hope
this is a little bit enlightening for you.

I am looking for something that will record the sound coming from my Iphone.
Music, books, any audio that I happen to play on the phone. I have an app for
recording already, but don’t have anything that will record audio that I play.
I’ve seen programs that will capture video, but I’m just looking for audio
capture.

Do you know that there is a “Current Week Stats” link and a “Current Week stats
for visually impaired link”? The first has everything formatted nicely in a
table and the other doesn’t. I don’t use Safari, but on the computer with Jaws
the regular Current Week Stats table reads perfectly, table navigation and all.

Re: Adding songs to a playlist within Apple music

2019-02-24 Thread Jim Fettgather

Terri,
So, let's say you are playing a song within the music app on your iPhone.

While the song is playing, you will want to find the part of the screen that
says Album Artwork, image.
The first thing that you will then hear, is Dismiss now playing screen, but
we don't want to do that.

You will want to flick until you reach the More button.
Double tap on that, and if you flick to the right, you will see a button
that says Add to a Play List.
You may then choose to create a new play list, or add to an existing play
list.

Hope this helps.

I know how the terminology gets a little screwy between the keyboards /

have a Backspace key on the K380 in case there's actually a Backspace key on
the K480. Thanks again.

Well, I think you will find the delete and backspace work the same way in
iOS.
Apple calls it delete, but it deletes the character prior to the cursor.
VoiceOver calls it Delete, but I think the printed label says backspace. It
might say both, I'm not sure.
I just have a bad habit of using Windows terminology sometimes when I

  Mike,
  You ask good questions.
Now, finding good answers is a different story.
Most of the f-keys do little or nothing with iOS.
ON mine, f5 seems to invoke search. f6 rewind, f7 pause or play, f8
forward.
One or other of the ones after f9 seem to be a home button. The final key
on the right on that row, says Delete, but does nothing. The one below
delete that is twice as big as the delete key is backspace. The one below
backspace, before return is ack slash.
  Again, this is my K480.

Perhaps Be My Eyes could help with getting at least the labels read?

The left of the spacebar starting all the way to the left should be
control, function, options, then command.
Spacebar right, should be command, options, then the arrow keys I think.
If you do control-options-k you can turn on keyboard help on your

Hi Sieghard,

I found the pairing steps like yourself but, I had no idea which keys the

are the easy switches. Thanks much.

Hi Mike,

As far as I know all the easy switch keyboards pair the same way, you just
push and hold one of the easy switch keys, on my K780 these are F1, F2 or
F3, but I understand some keyboards may have dedicated keys for that, not
totally sure about that.

Also, here is what I got under the heading “Featured snippet from the web”
when I did a Google search for “Logitech K380 pairing instructions”:

Featured snippet from the web

Press and hold down an Easy-Switch button until the status light starts
blinking. The keyboard is in pairing mode for the next three minutes.

Go to Bluetooth settings on your device and select Logitech Bluetooth®
Multi-Device Keyboard K380 when it appears in the list of available
Bluetooth devices.

Right underneath this is the link for the “Logitech Bluetooth® Multi-Device
Keyboard K380 Setup Guide”

I must say that while you can read this just fine, there are references to
tables for shortcut keys which apparently are shown as images and they are
not accessible with Jaws.

I also found a downloadable PDF version of this, but once again the tables
with these shortcuts are not shown in an accessible format.

I think given how popular these keyboards are and how much many people have
complaint, everybody who does care about Logitech providing accessible
information and manuals should really take 5 or 10 minutes and contact them
via their website and support link. It’s not like most of us wouldn’t have
the time for that if we chose to take time for it.

There is no generic support email, I have contacted them in the way I
described and received an email reply with a case number, but that is
specific to my case and for others to use this would just be confusing.

I have, however, looked under the Press link and found the name of a person
along with email address and phone number and I think if that person
suddenly got a few dozen emails and phone calls maybe she might do something
about it. Hard to say if she would, but she definitely won’t do anything if
nobody asks her. One thing I found interesting is that I really tried to
find some sort of accessibility statement on the Logitech website since many
companies nowadays have one and I could not come up with on anywhere. Below
is that information:

Mike,
You ask good questions.
Now, finding good answers is a different story.
Most of the f-keys do little or nothing with iOS.
ON mine, f5 seems to invoke search. f6 rewind, f7 pause or play, f8 forward.
One or other of the ones after f9 seem to be a home button. The final key on
the right on that row, says Delete, but does nothing. The one below delete
that is twice as big as the delete key is backspace. The one below backspace,
before return is ack slash.
Again, this is my K480.

Perhaps Be My Eyes could help with getting at least the labels read?

HTH,
Richard

Hi Richard,

Thank you for the headsup. It's mostly the keys above the enter key and to the
right of the F & number keys that I want to make sure of. Also, just playing
around, how do I get the F1 thru F12 keys to work without using the FN key?
With key help turned on only some of the F keys are being announced. Thanks
again.
Take care. Mike. Sennt from my iBarstool.

I believe it is much like the k480 but uses f1 f2 and f3 for the select each
device you pair with.
The left of the spacebar starting all the way to the left should be control,
function, options, then command.
Spacebar right, should be command, options, then the arrow keys I think.
If you do control-options-k you can turn on keyboard help on your iDevice and
you should be able to confirm what most of them are

2019-02-24 Thread Mike B.
Hi Richard,

The 1 key my K380 doesn't have is the Back Space key. From the top right
corner going down the right side is, the Nothing key, Delete, Back Slash,
Enter, Shift and Arrow keys. Thanks again for your help.
Take care. Mike. Sennt from my iBarstool.

Hello,

Has anyone else noticed changes to the Amazon app? I first noticed, a

I live in the U.S. and using the most recent versions of IOS and the
Amazon app.

thanks for any info/observations.
