RE: I never meant to update.

2019-10-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I have never had an iPhone update itself unless I tapped on “I Agree” at some
point. I am pretty sure a lot of people tap it not even checking what they
agree to and then they wonder why iOS updated itself.

The same thing happened with my wife’s phone just after iOS 13 was released.
All of her updates including iOS updates has been disabled yet she would’ve
woke one morning to find that her phone was updated to iOS 13. In fact, this
has been going on for her since iOS 9. She has not been able to stop this from
happening. And yes. Everything automatic is and has been disabled on her phone.
Additionally, a couple of the low vision features that she uses have been
broken in iOS 13. You cannot imagine how furious she has been about it.

RE: Updating payment method for Apple ID

2019-10-23 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Wendy,

Not to worry. This is a well-known software glitch that Apple says it will
resolve.

In the meantime, you will have to update your payment method, at least once,
via the web portal. Once done, then you should be able to update your card
info via your local Apple device.

So, go to:
http://appleid.apple.com and sign into your account via your preferred web
browser.

Update your info, there, and you should be good to go.

The next time you open the Settings / Apple ID / Payment method on your Apple
device, you will see that you can now edit your payment method, again, should
you wish.

This is what I did, several times, but it would not allow me to edit my card.
This card also has Apple Pay attached with it. Don’t know if that has anything
to do with it or not, but it wouldn’t allow me to change anything.

Bluetooth question.

2019-10-23 Thread Carolyn Arnold
I have Bluetooth in my hearing aids, but can get some
earbuds so can answer phone and hang up and talk using them.

So, my question is, I have my hearing aids paired to
Bluetooth. Can I just run them both at the same time, either
or or what should I do to have this for whichever I want to
use. I have a treatment for tinnitus, where I need to use my
hearing aids. Otherwise, it would be really good to use the
earbuds. Thanks for any help.

If you pray, don't worry; if you worry, don't pray,

Carolyn

After the download, a few days later is when I got the first
notification to install the update, so I did not accept the license
agreement, so it has not installed on my phone. Although, it is still
there waiting for me to accept the license agreement, and I have no
intentions of updating just yet. Has anyone noticed the size of this
update? It is a little over 2 gigs! So next time we think about
buying an iPhone, we might have to pay more money to get more space on
our phones! If someone doesn’t want the newest update, that should be
their right, so please people try and understand some people just
don’t ask for trouble! Now, I’m sure Apple had good intentions when
releasing an update, but it doesn’t always work that way, and I’m sure
Apple knows that! Doesn’t the Apple baiter testers give their
findings to Apple before Apple actually releases the update? Doesn’t
Apple listen to their baiter testers? When I have a problem with my
phone after an update, and I call Apple, they can only give me a
workaround if they have one, so the main problem is not corrected!
Yes, I know some people might not be experiencing the same phone
issues after the update, and that seems to be a little odd!

Hello iPhone Friends,

Some of you reading this note will suppose that perhaps I'd done
something wrong in the settings on my iPhone 8. With all the recent
flack I'd read and heard about iOS 13, I had decided to wait awhile
before updating. I checked my settings to ensure that the automatic
update feature had been turned off. You can now guess where this is
going. I awoke this morning and looked at the time on my iPhone and
discovered it had updated overnight without my consent. I can only
imagine that,

RE: I never meant to update.

Hello Dave,
Can I uninstall the updates and roll back to 12.4.1?
Best,

absolutely.

If you accidentally tap on the incorrect button, it will update over night.

I think it's always better, to delete the downloaded update.

Dave.

Hi Josh,
When I got my first iPhone, and when I got a notification I had an update, I
tapped on the later option, and sure enough the phone did download the very
next time I turned on my phone! My point, be very careful if you don't want to
update right now, about the later option though.

I'll delete my update again. I think 2 gigs for an update is rather large
myself. I just always go to not now, and remind me later.
Hopefully, my phone won't update by itself.

I am told that if you go to the home screen before hanging up with the two

Re: 1Password or LastPass?

2019-10-23 Thread Donald Raikes
I just downloaded One Password on my iPhone 8 and when I opened it the
only option I had was to subscribe to the $8.99 for six months then
$3.99 per month after that.
There was no option to try it for free, and after I completed the
signup for the 6 month trial, I need to enter my email and a 6 digit
code which was supposed to be emailed to me but I never got the email,
so I am stuck at this point.

If you have any questions or concerns about the running of this list, or if

best method to delete multiple contacts

2019-10-23 Thread Joe Paton

Good Afternoon all.

What is the best procedure to delete over one thouzand contacts in a
couple of key strokes? I think a third party app may be needed, but if
correct, which one?

Many thanks.

Are Third Party Keyboards Working in iOS 12.1.3?

2019-10-23 Thread 'Chuck Dean' via VIPhone
Hello,
Fliktype is not working with 13.1.2. I am to understand from the beta testers
that iOS version 13.2 fixes the third-party software keyboard problems.
You may want to wait for iOS 13.2 before updating your phone

Issue with 13.1.2 and some with 13.1.3

2019-10-23 Thread territek
I had a show stopping issue where my XR would completely stop working and
shut down, or VO would just freeze. Someone at the GeniusBar suggested I
reset all my settings. I did and other than one more complete shut down, my
phone has been working fine since. The last occurrence was Thursday November
17th last week after the reset and upgrading to 13.1.3. I also had problems
with my Audicon hearing aids connecting through only one ear or failing
altogether. Heres hoping that these issues stay dormant.

Best,

Terri Hedgpeth

RE: Bluetooth app for Instant Pot is not working in v13.1.3

2019-10-23 Thread territek
Tried unsuccessfully to pair my iPhone XR with my Instant Pot last night and
could not get it to pair. However, when I turned PO off and handed my phone to
my sighted Husband, he paired it without any instantly. Pun intended. After he
paired the two, I turned VO back on and could operate the pot easily as I had
in the past. I hope 13.2 will fix this.

My instant pot is paired with a 7+ which is currently running 13.2 beta. I’m
not having any problem there. And it seems to me I did also use it on some
version of 13.1, I think it was 13.1.2 but I’m not sure. I have not experienced
any issues with it.

Has anyone else experienced problems with their Instant Pot Bluetooth app in

Hope someone has a solution.
