No, the book is not in english. Did you know that the Watch app has the user

Hi, Group.

Is this book in English?

I purchased this from the app Book and when I read table of contents, it
appears that the book is not in English; Could someone, please, check it for me?

RE: Apple shares 5 security steps you should take 'right away' to protect Apple Card, 9 to 5 Mac

And before a bunch of people from Canada and other countries wonder about this,

Apple Card, 9 to 5 Mac

9to5Mac - Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 7:27 AM Apple shares 5 security steps
you should take 'right away' to protect Apple Card Apple Card has a number of
security improvements compared to many credit cards with features like the
number/expiration date not being printed on the card, control in the Wallet app
on iPhone, and a focus on Apple Pay. Today Apple has shared 5 steps to take
"right away" to "protect yourself from fraud and make the most of Apple Card's
security features."

Apple highlighted the important security features in an email to Apple Card
users this morning with the recommendation of using/being aware of them
immediately.
Here's the list of things Apple says "you should do right away to keep your
Apple Card safe."

5 Apple Card security features you should use now
1. Turn on Advanced Fraud Protection. The 3-digit security code for
your Apple Card will change periodically for even more secure purchases on the
web. Don't worry, recurring charges will still go through Go to Apple Card in
Wallet, tap the card number button, then scroll down to Advanced Fraud
Protection and turn it on. Use Advanced Fraud Protection with Apple Card

2. Enable transaction notifications. You will get an alert every time
your card is used so you can catch suspicious activity as soon as it happens

Go to Apple Card in Wallet, tap the More button, then tap Notifications and
turn on Transactions

3. Lock your titanium card if it's ever lost or misplaced (you could
also lock it as a default and only unlock it when you need it if you normally
use Apple Pay) Go to Apple Card in Wallet, tap, tap Card Details, then tap
"Lock Card"
under the Titanium Card section. If you find your card, you can easily unlock
it. Lock or unlock Apple Card

4. Remove lost or stolen devices from your Apple account and change
your Apple ID password if you believe it's compromised Head to
appleid.apple.com and log in to manage your devices (click "Devices"
on the left side of your screen)

5. Security awareness
Fraudsters sometimes impersonate credit card companies in an attempt to gather
customers' account data and make unauthorized purchases.
Don't accept unsolicited calls or texts urging you to take immediate action on
your Apple Card account Don't share one-time passcodes sent from Apple or
Goldman Sachs with anyone Don't provide your virtual card number to unverified
merchants or websites If ever in doubt, hang up and call Apple Card support at
1-877-255-5923 to ensure you're talking to a verified Apple Card specialist.
Apple Card specialists will never ask for your Apple ID password, Apple ID
verification codes, device passcode, recovery key, or any account security
details. Learn more about how you can help keep your Apple ID secure

For more on Apple ID security, check out Apple's support document.
If you don't have Apple Card yet (and are in the US) and would like to apply,
you can find a link in the Wallet app on your iPhone or on Apple's website.

Hello,
I need to go and run an errand.
This errand involves me making a quick pickup of an item and then returning
home.
I put my home as the pick up address and the place for the errand as
destination. I then tried to add my home as a stop where the trip would be
completed so as to ride back with the same driver; however, after adding my
home as stop 2 and tapping on the done button, I cannot close out of the add

Has anyone else done this and if so, how have you gotten around this issue?
Thank you in advance.

iPhone S O S and what it means when your carrier info disappears, 9 to 5 Mac

2023-02-15 Thread M. Taylor
9to5Mac - Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 9:01 AM
iPhone S O S and what it means when your carrier info disappears

T-Mobile suffered a major outage across parts of the United States last
night, impacting voice, data, and messaging services. For iPhone users in
particular, this outage meant that the "S O S" icon was displayed in the
status bar. Here's what that means and how to fix it if you're still stuck
in S O S mode.

The T-Mobile outage appears to be largely resolved. The company's president
of technology, Neville Ray, took to Twitter to say that there's been a
"significant improvement" in network availability and things are "operating
near normal levels."
T-Mobile attributed the outage to a third-party fiber interruption. This
outage appears to have also had ripple affects across AT and Verizon,
though neither of those carriers suffered an outage to the degree of
T-Mobile.

What iPhone "S O S" means and how to fix it
Because of these outages and connectivity issues, iPhone users are noticing
an "S O S" icon in their device's status bar. Even today, when the outages
have supposedly been resolved, some iPhones are still showing this S O S
icon instead of the normal cellular signal details.

It's important to differentiate that this is different from the Emergency S
O S feature for iPhone and Apple Watch that can automatically call emergency
services on your behalf.

In a support document, Apple explains that S O S in your iPhone's status bar
means that your device isn't connected to a cellular network, but you can
still make emergency calls. Currently, this feature is available in
Australia, Canada, and the United States.

This means that if you lose cellular connectivity on your iPhone, such as
when your carrier experiences an outage, you'll oftentimes see the "S O S"
icon in the status bar.

If you think this is a mistake and you should have network connectivity,
here are a few things to try.
. Turn cellular data off and then back on again: Go to Settings, then
tap Cellular or Mobile Data. If you're using an iPad, you might see Settings
> Cellular Data.
. Turn your cellular line off and back on: Go to Settings > Cellular
and check to see if your cellular line is turned on. If your cellular line
is off, turn it back on. Then check to see if you have service.
. Check for a Carrier Settings update: Tap Settings > General > About.
If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier
settings.
It's clear that yesterday's T-Mobile is having lingering effects on some
iPhone users. If none of the above steps resolve the network problems you're
experiencing, you'll likely need to reach out to your carrier directly.

Twitter delaying changes to its API after announcing many new limitations, 9 to 5 Mac

2023-02-15 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

As we have a great deal of Twitter users in this community, I thought you
might find the following article, interesting.

Mark

9to5Mac - Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 5:36 PM
Twitter delaying changes to its API after announcing many new limitations

Earlier this month, Twitter announced a series of changes to its API that
will directly impact how third-party platforms can access the social
network. However, amid much controversy, Twitter is now delaying the changes
to its API "for a few more days."

As announced by the official Twitter Dev account, the upcoming changes to
the Twitter API have been delayed. The company doesn't say when the changes
will go into effect, but it suggests that this will happen very soon.
Previously, the new rules were expected to take effect from February 9.
Twitter then said that the changes would be delayed until February 13, but
the new rules are now being postponed again. According to Twitter, the delay
is due to "efforts to create an optimal experience for the developer
community." The company also claims that there's an "immense amount of
enthusiasm for the upcoming changes with Twitter API."

What's changing in the Twitter API?
Earlier this year, Twitter announced that it would no longer allow
developers to use its API to create third-party clients for the social
network. This was the end of popular apps such as Tweetbot and Twitterrific.
After that, the company also revealed its plans to shut down its free API,
which would result in a lot of good bots and automated accounts stopping
working.

Following a slew of complaints, Twitter owner Elon Musk said the social
network would then offer a "light, write-only API for bots providing good
content that is free." However, this new free API comes with a number of
limitations. For instance, it only allows 1,500 tweets per month. Developers
who need more than this must pay at least $100 per month to access the API.
Even for those paying, Twitter will still not allow developers to create
third-party clients as in the past. It's unclear what led Twitter to delay
changes to its API, but the negative response to the latest announcements
may have pushed the company to take a step back.
As noted by Fortune, some volunteer developers have been using Twitter's API
to get real-time help requests from people affected by the earthquakes in
Turkey and Syria. With the new restrictions, these developers may no longer
be able to do this. Akin Unver, a professor of international relations said
that the changes to Twitter's API would impact "others around the world that
are using Twitter data to monitor emergencies and politically contested
events."

The changes to Twitter's API come at a time when the company is struggling
to sustain its revenue with a loss in the number of advertisers. More
recently, Twitter has also expanded its Blue subscription to more countries
in an attempt to earn more money from its users. We're yet to see if all the
company's latest decisions will have a positive impact on its revenue.
