Hello. I purposely have run the battery down below 20% to check what you are discussing. When I unlocked the phone with the battery at 19% VoiceOver announced low battery but without the tone we are accustomed to. I am not sure if that was removed in iOS 17 or if it a peculiarity of the 15 Pro. VO often tells me “you have xxx notifications” when I’m on the lock screen. It 
will tell me where they are coming from – phone, Uber, etc, but doesn’t tell me 
what the actual notifications. Just now I double-tapped on a phone notification 
and my phone called the number. This is useless information. Do I have 
something set wrong, or is this really how things are supposed to work? I have 
an iPhone 14 pro with the latest updates.

Forget about wall paper, Leo’s instructions were right on the money, swipe down 
to Forward and double tap, then find “Share” at the bottom right of the screen 
and if you don’t use Dropbox or OneDrive or something along those lines which 
syncs with your PC, just select “Mail” and email it to yourself. Then once you 
get the email the picture will be an attachment which you can save into 
whichever folder you want it in.

Hi Annie,

Well, the DannyBoy is on close out for $44.95 at Blind Mice Mega Mall.  I don’t 
know if they ship to Denmark.

The other one to consider is the ScannerBin, but I don’t think that will really 
meet your needs, unless it is the basic model with a larger scanning opening 
for the camera.  It is basically a cardboard box with a hole cut out and an 
option for an LED light strip to attach to help with lighting.

 

DannyBoy has a more open design and might actually do better.

Here is the Amazon page for the ScannerBin.  I have tested several models for 
the maker and they were getting rather complicated but I think this one is the 
more simple design.

I should buy one just to make sure as I have the first model and a couple 
prototypes that are impossible to assemble, but the basic one is pretty easy.

Hi. Either to e-mail yourself the photo or to save it in one of your cloud 
services, put the voice over focus on the image, now use the one-finger swipe 
down gesture as many times as you need until you hear “forward,” and double tap 
with one finger on that option. The photo will be selected to be forwarded, now 
go to the lower right corner  of the screen, and if you did the previous step 
right, instead of the voice message, you will find the “share button.”  Tap 
into it, and on the next screen you will see all the options where you can 
share the photo, including your clouds and even your e-mail. 

To save the photo in your gallery, in other words, your iPhone, double tap  
with one finger on the photo, now swipe right several times until you reach the 
share button, tap into it, swipe right again as many times as you need, and you 
will find the save option.

If you had WhatsApp on your computer it would be far easier, basically just 
placing the focus or your screen reader on the image, then bringing up the 
context menu, after which you just had to hit enter on “save as.” This taking 
into account that you use a Windows computer.

Notifications are Useless -- or so it seems

[realman02 via VIPhone]

VO often tells me "you have xxx notifications" when I'm on the lock screen.
It will tell me where they are coming from - phone, Uber, etc, but doesn't
tell me what the actual notifications. Just now I double-tapped on a phone
notification and my phone called the number. This is useless information. Do
I have something set wrong, or is this really how things are supposed to
work? I have an iPhone 14 pro with the latest updates.
