App for Transfering Music from i Device to Mac iTunes

2016-03-08 Thread Marc Sutton
Hi,
Does anyone know of an accessible app for transferring music from an iPhone
or similar device to iTunes on a Mac. iTunes wants to delete music if it is
on a device but not on the Mac's iTunes due to its syncing criteria.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have been happy with the VO Calendar app. It makes reading your events in a

Setting up Dropbox

Hi,
I just reset apps on a new iphone. Dropbox starts up with an initial screen

Thanks.

I was reading a magazine with BARD this morning and had a funny thing happen

 following instructions.
 1. If not in a ZIP archive format. You should compress the directory

 3. Open the iTunes application and select the iOS device button at

 6. Press the Add. button located in the bottom right of the screen.
This will give you a dialog to select the ZIP file from step one. The

So, I added some books to my wishlist like I always do from the
website on my computer. Before when I'd do this I'd go to the ap
 on my phone, into
 my
wishlist and download them. But, now, when I go into the ap,
they're not there. I know they've been added, but they're not
 there. I've closed the
 ap
 using the ap switcher...
reopened it... but still nothing. Any suggestions?
 Thanks in advance.

Bard App: Problems With Browsing BARD Website and pop-up Menus

2013-09-22 Thread Marc Sutton
Hi BARD app users,
I have noticed that when you select the browse bard website link under get
books, There are pop-up menus to choose, for example, magazine titles, first
letter of author's last name, etc. When you select these menus you get a peaker
item that should allow you to scroll through choices. Unfortunately, I am
getting the behavior that the focus jumps out of this peaker item list as soon
as I flick up or down. Has anyone else had better luck with this area of the
app? Or figured out any workarounds? Thanks.

Re: TONIDO

2013-05-21 Thread Marc Sutton
I had a similar problem finding the download link on their site. So, I did a
google search for tonido download and the page appeared at the top of the
search results.

That page address is:

Perhaps others have found it and I'd be glad if you can help out here.

I also find I'm not taking advantage of its use in the way I should be able
to, but the concept sort of sends me around in circles.

If anyone uses it regularly and would like to explain more about this app and
give some more info then I'd be interested.

Re: recording apps for IPhone

I'm assuming that ootunes and tune-in pro only record audio coming through
those apps, not the audio of another app such as pandora, etc. I was looking

2 or 3 things you listened to, and overwrites those recordings unless you
expressly save them. Very cool idea.

Read2Go Braille Question

When you are reading a book in Read2Go with speech, you have to touch the

Calendar Date Bug

I have noticed that the calendar when in list mode will sometimes give the
wrong dates in the heading that indicates each date. When it works right,

When this bug appears, dates are out of whack. Has anyone else experienced this

view it will sometimes fix the problem. Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Braille displays comparison for IOS Devices, particularly iPhone

Hello,
My related question to this thread has to do with reading books or longer
passages of text. Is there a command in Ios to automatically scroll a display
so you can read a book without having to press a command every time you want
another line of text? Obviously larger displays are better for this purpose.
Does anyone have features of a particular display that make book reading easier
that they would like to share. Thanks for any commentary on this topic.

display is that while the keyboard is usable for text entry, its not the most
plesent to type on. If using it with Jaws, you don't get keyboard entry from
the display and it will only connect to the Microsoft bluetooth stack, so I
cannot use it at work. It is more expensive than simelar displays, but in my
opinion, if your planning to use it exclusively or predominantly with the
 iPhone, its well worth it.

With the iPhone, I absolutely prefer it over my focus, which also doesn't
have a great keyboard, although I don't have the very latest modle. The
Connect 12's controls when used with the iPhone are much more ergonomic and
much more intuitive than that of the focus.

 Hi,

My favourite one for the iPhone is the Verio Connect 12. The braille is
the krispist I have found on a Braille display, The display controls are
very ergonomic and it can fit in a pair of geans pocket. The down side to
this display is that while the keyboard is usable for text entry, its not
the most plesent to type on. If using it with Jaws, you don't get keyboard
entry from the display and it will only connect to the Microsoft bluetooth
stack, so I cannot use it at work. It is more expensive than simelar
displays, but in my opinion, if your planning to use it exclusively or
predominantly with the iPhone, its well worth it.

With the iPhone, I absolutely prefer it over my focus, which also doesn't
have a great keyboard, although I don't have the very latest modle. The
Connect 12's controls when used with the iPhone are much more ergonomic
and much more intuitive than that of the focus.

Re: Where To Question

2012-08-02 Thread Marc Sutton
Hi Esther,
Thanks for your reply. I am actually using an iphone. I found that flicking
right and left doesn't reveal the email, twitter, etc. buttons. But, thanks to
your advice, i just touched the screen just above the home button and
eventually got these buttons to be spoken. I have noticed this type of behavior
in a few other apps such as Motion Gps. I will now remember to do more spatial
exploring. Thanks.

etc.? I would like to be able to share search results via email. Thanks for
 any tips.

Although you don't identify the iOS device you are using, your reference to
the popup button indicates that you are running the Where To? app on an
iPad of some sort. To reach the email button move your finger up from the
Home button on your screen. As you pass the Add to Contacts button in
the bottom row of button options you'll first hear Twitter button then
Email button, and if you continue to move your finger up to about the
midpoint of the screen you'll hear Share location using heading. I've only
ever used the sharing button for Where To? from my iPhone, where the
options are Email, Message, Facebook, Twitter, and Copy as Text.
On the iPad, these options are also available, but apparently the popup menu
isn't exposing this to VoiceOver via the flick gesture -- only when you touch
the button. The layout of the buttons is two rows of three, with Email,
Message, and Facebook in the upper row, and Twitter and Copy as Text
in the lower row. You can also use the bottom row of buttons to guide you to
the entries, with Twitter and then Email lying above the third button
(for Add to Contacts), and Copy as Text and then Message lying above
the fourth button (for Share), and then dismiss popup and Facebook,
lying above the fifth button for Favorite in the bottom right corner.
However, I generally use the Home button as a reference, and here I would
move up to Email, and then to the right to Message if I wanted to send a
text message. Once focus is on a button you can double tap anywhere on the
screen or do a split tap with another finger to bring up the option. I'll
send an email to the developer asking him for a fix on this. He's been
pretty good about responding to requests, and I really like the updating
direction and distance information in the upper right corner of the details
screen for individual entries. (This feature is also supported on iPads with
3G or 4G, but with Wi-Fi only iPads you may only get distance when there is
 an active network connection.)

HTH. Generally, if there is a popup menu on the iPad it will show up above
the button you double tapped for buttons along the bottom of the screen, and
below the button you double tapped for buttons along the top of the screen.
A general tip if you can't hear VoiceOver announce options for a popup menu
is to touch the screen at the location of the button and move your finger
towards the center of the screen to find the menu.

 Cheers,

 Esther

work with Jaws. Perhaps it'd work with NVDA or Window Eyes.

Also, inorder to remove the drm, you have to install the Kindle PC app and
have the book sent wirelessly to your pc. Otherwise, if you were to have it
sent to the app on your phone, for example, you would need to get your
phone's PID in order to remove the DRM.
