I don't have the YouTube app, but when I get a link for YouTube, it still opens

Jewel,
First, all the preview means is that you will be able to see you so many lines
of the email without even having to hit on it first to read it. That way you
can decide what do you want to read it which means open it, or just delete it
immediately.I hope that I am correct in what I am about to say. All you do to
activate a link that you see in your email is kit on it double tap with one
finger. As for volume I push the volume up. I think for instance with my phone
ringer I've got it all the way up to 100%. Back to a link in an email: if it
happens to be a link to a clip from YouTube, you might want to download the
YouTube app which will then automatically open when you hit on any link that
has to do with you too. It's free. I don't know what happens if you don't have
the app already downloaded on your phone. I don't know whether the link will
open. It might.

Correction, in an email the send button is just to the left of the "to"
field. In a text message you can usually find it just above the letter 'p'
on your on-screen keyboard.

I am making some headway in understanding this new gizmo and have, with
some success, sent a couple

of emails, and received a couple as well.
In message settings, I have set it to keep messages for 30 days before
deleting, so that should give

me plenty of time to get a grasp of what I am doing.
What does preview mean? I have it set for 5 lines.
When I turned the phone on this morning, I was told that I had 1 unread
email , but in that one, my
correspondent made reference to having sent 2 earlier ones, which I,
eventually, did tracked down,
that contained the link to a YouTube movie. How does one activate a link
on the iPhone?
With my hearing getting worse, I find it difficult to pick up what vo is
saying: I have speech set
at 45% so that does not need to be adjusted, but I would like to read
sentence by sentence, and

then be able to go back to reread them.
I have the rotor set to characters which suits me as I use that setting to
check clues in Word
Ladder, so do I have to reset it from characters to sentences when I read
an email and then reset it

to characters when I play WL?

Hi Jewell and Deidre,

Just as a small correction, it is actually not "the third line". Yes, you
have to swipe twice from
the Cancel button to get to Send, but visually Cancel, the email subject
and Send are all on the

same line.

When you have composed an email in the Mail app or are replying to one,
the Send button is more or
less at the top right corner. Cancel is at the top left and in the middle
is a heading which when
you compose a new message says "New Message" at first, as soon as you
typed a subject it will say
whatever it is you typed as the subject or whatever the subject is of the
email you are replying to.
I say the send button is "more or less" at the top right corner because
just a tiny bit above it and
all the way across the device from left to right is a button that is
announced as "Minimize Draft".
If you started a message and want to finish it later, you can double tap
it and it will save the

message as a draft and go back to the main mailbox you were in.
So, visually you have your status bar at the top with the time, battery
level on the right and so

on.
Underneath and all the way across is the "Minimize Draft" button. If you
were to touch the time and
slowly drag your finger down along the right side of the phone you would
find it, but you would also
find it if you touch the time in the middle and drag down or if you touch
the carrier logo/signal

strength on the left and drag down as it goes all the way across.
Underneath that on the next line is "Cancel" at the left", "New Message or
Message Subject" in the

middle and "Send" on the right.
If you touch the time and drag down past Minimize Draft you next get to
Send.
If you want to swipe and are, for example, on Cancel, then you can swipe
left once to get to the

Minimize Draft button, you can swipe right twice to get to Send.

Preview is what a sighted person would see next to each message in their
list of emails, such as your in box. With VoiceOver, you'll hear the
preview read after a slight pause, if you have hints turned on in
VoiceOver. This way you can hear a bit of the message and determine if
you want to read it, move it to a folder or delete it without actually
opening it up.

To pull up a link, you should just be able to double tap on the link.
