Re: A roomba 980 app question:

2017-01-02 Thread Alan Paganelli
Hello again Friends.

I have to say that my iRoomba does a fantastic job on short pile carpets. I
still haven't found the button that makes the little guy return to base. Never
the less, two hours cleaning time is more then enough time to clean the floors.
To bad the little guy doesn't have a telescoping arm to do the dusting too.
Has anybody contacted the maker of these products to see about accessible
manuals?

I'm not getting mine until Tuesday so I cant tell you how accessible the app is
yet except that certainly the initial screens where it searches for your
machine is very accessible so fingers crossed. I will post an update once I've
had chance to try the app. Unfortunately it doesn't let you get any further
until you add a device so I cant test it. Looking at the documentation, it
appears it is set up so that all control is done from the app rather than on
the machine, even for sighted users so there shouldn't be any aspect of the

Nice. I have an old Roomba 350, I've been using it since 2009 and it keeps my
apartment clean. I didn't realize they had a new model that has an app.

How accessible is the app? What can you accomplish in the app, and what can the
app do that you cannot accomplish due to accessibility issues? I'd probably
upgrade to an app enabled model ASAP if it turns out to be accessible.

Thanks,
Ryan

I'm not sure I have the same model as you do. Mine is the model just under the
model with WI-FI. My wife bought this gagit for me because at almost 69 years
old I was finding pushing a vacuum a bit hard. My wife pressed a few buttons
for me to make the little guy return to base when he gets low on power or the
job is complete. Never the less, both her and I are amazed at how good of a
job the little guy does on hard kitchen floors and short nap carpeting. I did
also find out that the 2 sensors that the unit comes with needs to be switched
off when not in use. The 2 double A batteries get ran down if the sensor
switch is left in the up setting. So from now on, they get turned off when not
in use. All that aside, I would not hesitate to recomend this vacuum cleaner
to anybody who cannot push around a conventional unit around.

A roomba 980 app question:

2017-01-01 Thread Don Breda

Anyone with one of these vacuums have the following info please?

1. Where is the home button in the app to make the roomba go back to the
dock?

I just don't see that.

2. if you place the roomba in the dock manually is there a way to know
its making proper contact?

I have found sometimes that it doesnt' obey its weekly schedule probably
because it wasn't quite mated up with the dock after taking it apart and
cleaning it.

Even though it may appear to be in the right position it seems quite
tricky to get the contacts to mate when you place it in the dock manually.

3. there are 3 buttons on the roomba itself, the big one being clean.
The other smaller buttons are spot clean and home but I don't know which
button is which.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Happy new year.
