Re: An interesting conversion in the company name field of a contact

2019-08-05 Thread englishrider91
I always just put the name of the company in the first name field, and things
usually work for me. Well, I usually put the city in the first name field in
parentheses, particularly if it's something common, like Stop and Shop, a
grocery store here in Massachusetts. Otherwise, Siri will start trying to find
places by doing an internet search, rather than calling the number listed in my
contacts. This thing of putting the city in the first name field also works
well for me since sometimes I have more than one of the same store in my
contacts, just in a different city, and I like to know right away, without
going into the contact, which one I'm looking at.

Thanks,
Ari

RE: An interesting conversion in the company name field of a contact

2019-08-04 Thread Carolyn Arnold
I never put anything in a Company Field, since I have heard it was ignored.
However, now I do most of my phones manually, so I guess it wouldn't matter.

Best regards,

Carolyn

Just out of curiosity, I entered a contact as lxi all caps, all lower case, and
just the l capitalized; but VO always said l x i when reading it.
Which voice are you using?
Did you ever add a pronunciation entry for roman numerals.

An interesting conversion in the company name field of a contact

2019-08-03 Thread karl Smith
Yesterday I was adding a contact to my iPhone and when I got to the company
name field I entered the company name which is LVI. When going back to
verify my information the field read 56. Wondering what the problem was I
deleted the data and wrote LVI again. Once more it said 56. It was then I
realized it was converting LVI as if it was a Roman numeral. Is this normal?
