Re: Annoyance with Message App

Much like Richard,

I can’t duplicate this bug either. I can add multiple contacts to the contact
field, and then navigate down to the message field and type.

RE: Annoyance with Message App

2022-10-27 Thread Richard Turner
Cannot duplicate this running 16.1 on my 13 pro.
I hit compose.
I entered one friend's name, doubled tapped their number that showed up.
I entered another name, double tapped that person's phone number.
I touched near the bottom of the screen and there was the text message body
area so I double tapped and the keyboard appeared ready to go.
I wrote my message and sent it off.
I do have very few of the extra apps showing on the screen.
I do not have subject lines on.

Subject: Annoyance with Message App

I’m continually encountering a most annoying issue in the native Message app;
whenever I try to add more than one recipient to a composition the app does not
allow me to get into the message body until I’ve hit the “Add Contact” button
and immediately then cancel. I’ll explain in more detail:

1) Obviously, I select the “Compose” button.
2. I enter one of my nieces’ name and choose appropriately from “Results.”
3. I enter a second niece’s name and likewise select appropriately from
“Results.”

At this point, I think I should be able to focus in the message subject line or
body text area. But this is not what happens, the virtual keyboard for
recipients remains in effect and there isn’t any way that I can determine to
get to the message area.

4. I activate the “Add Contact” button and immediately hit cancel whereupon I’m
then relieved from the recipient section and able to focus on the subject/body
text areas.

This seems to me to be a bug; I believe that once I’ve selected the second (or
third or fourth, etc.) recipient I should be able to go to compose the message.

BTW: this is not new in iOS 16.?, it was evident as far back as iOS14.? that I
recall. I just finally sick of this bug.

Any suggestions or advice?
