in retrospect, you are correct that is a voiceover and not an apple sound. Ray T. Hi, The lock sound is different than the unlock sound that used to be present in iOS 6 and earlier. Apple removed that sound starting with 7 when you unlock the device, and it hasn’t returned since. I honestly think the sound you guys are hearing is a VoiceOver sound. Can someone provide me audio of what they hear so I can confirm? > On Oct 24, 2015, at 7:16 AM, Rajmundwrote: > > Hello, > I have an iPad, without a password, and I get the lock unlock sounds. > > - Original Message - > From: Daniel Miller > To: viphone@googlegroups.com > Date: Saturday, October 24, 2015 12:52 pm > Subject: Re: Another Small Bug that May Be Related to the Loss of Automatic > Time Announcement in iOS 9.1 > >> >> >> Hi Sieghard, >> >> That's interesting, I get no unlock sound when I unlock either with my >> fingerprint, or by entering my passcode. Re: Another Small Bug that May Be Related to the Loss of Automatic Time Announcement in iOS 9.1
Hi I found a work around for the lick sound, at least it works for me on a 4S: I went to settings, sounds, and then to the lock screen sound. It was turned on, so I turned it off and back on again, went out of settings, and sure enough, the sound was back as before. It might just work for others? RE: Another Small Bug that May Be Related to the Loss of Automatic Time Announcement in iOS 9.1
Hmm, good observation, Lois, I just tested this and can confirm that for me there is no unlock sound if I just wake up the phone to the home screen and it doesn't seem to matter whether I use the power button or press the home button. As soon as I use the home button with one of the fingers I registered with Touch Id I get the unlock sound if it unlocks completely and it's pretty darn hard to press that home button in any way which doesn't instantly unlock it on the 6S. But if I use another finger or the finger nail so it only wakes up to the lock screen, then there is no sound. I always do seem to get the lock sound, though.
