Hi,

RE: BBC iPlayer app

2016-02-03 Thread Andrew Roberts
Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, that is exactly what I am doing and it isn’t working for me!

I double tap on categories, double tap on audio description, go to the bottom
of that list and double tap on audio description a-z.

I then see the list of programmes that contain AD in alphabetical order. I
double tap on the one I want (Doctors in this case) and that takes me into the
screen with the newest episode (today’s). If I double tap on play then I get
audio description. However if I carry on down to the heading “more from this
series” this is then followed by a list of all the other episodes available.
Double tapping on any of these and then double tapping on the play button gives
me the episode but without audio description. I have also tried this with
Casualty and have got the same results. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Andrew, if you go to the bottom of the audio described category and choose
"View Audio Described A-Z", then you can choose previous episodes that are
still available and contain audio description.

BBC iPlayer app

I notice that there is a player from the BBC available on some other

iOS. Is that pretty much the only option?

2015-01-23 Thread Cristóbal
My German wife deals with similar issues when she wants to use the apps for her
TV programs over there by logging into the German ap store and then into my
mother-in-laws account with a VPN on.

It otherwise wont’ work. Even with the VPN enabled. Odd because the trials for
the apps were completely accessible for her with her own US ID, but once that
was over, it was a no-go.

How is it that there is an app for the Kindle Fire tablet called Listen to the

Re: BBC IPlayer App Available in the US?

2015-01-23 Thread Ben Mustill-Rose
Well, have you tried the app to see if it works outside of the UK? It
could be that the fires app store isn't clever enough to hide aps that
have regiional restrictions.
If it does work, are you absolutely certain that it's an official BBC
app and not a third party one that uses some questionable methods to
work around the restrictions?

Cheers,
Ben.
