you really don't need to stop apps, iOS does this for you. I never delete
anything from my app switcher because I let the phone handle this. It makes
me have to do one less thing.

You'll usually want to close an app that's using a lot of battery, such as
a tracking app like the maps app.

Re: Closing apps when done using them

2013-03-15 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Just tapping the home button will take you back to the folder or home
page you were in when you started the app. If you want to also remove
the app from memory, you can go into the App Switcher to do this. Double
tap the home key and then double tap and hold until you hear the beeps
on on any app in the App Switcher. Now you can just double tap any app
to remove it from memory.

If you're in the app you want to dismiss you'll need to tap the home
button first, since the app you're currently in won't appear in the App
Switcher.

Press the home button, now double press on it to open the app switcher.
Now double tap and hold on any of the apps shown. This should now say
editing apps. now double tap on them one by one until you hear app
switcher has no items. I then either press the home button or press the
sleep/wake button depending on what I want to do. But you can also
double tap on dismiss app switcher and it will go away.
