It can also happen if you use a charger which doesn't produce quite the
right amount of current. That's harmless, charging is slower but it still
occurs (sometimes one works with what one has at hand ;>). But if it's the
same charger you've always used ... it isn't a good sign.

I have had the same problem with my iPhone 6. I just found out that the plug
meaning the thing that the cable goes into is defective. I swapped it out so
I'm not getting those messages anymore and when checking to make sure the phone
is charging it is indeed charging. It's no longer being fickle. what I'm
talking about is the plug that plugs into the outlet at that the USB end of
your cable plugs into. Swap that out and see what happens.

Probably because the cable is failing, or the connection is loose, or the
charger is failing.
I suspect the cable is failing. Hopefully it is not the connection in the phone.
I'd try a new or different cable.

Re: device not supported by apple watch

2016-08-11 Thread Chris Chaffin

To restart the watch:
Hold in the friend button for a couple of seconds and you will get a pop up
screen.
Just swipe to power off and double tap.
It does take a couple of minutes to totally power off.

Once off, just hold in the friend button for about 2 seconds and release to
start the watch in the turning on process. It will take a couple of minutes to
completely turn on your watch.
I do not restart my watch that often, but if it starts acting funny in any way,
I just restart it, and it usually fixes it.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Hello,

I had this trouble some months ago and I can’t think how I fixed it. I think I
just cleaned the back of the watch. I reasoned my skin would have greased it up
so that the charger didn’t make full connection.

All is OK now.

Oh, OK. I hope it’s not the charger..
Now, to sound really dumb, how do I restart the watch?

Thanks!

Re: device not supported by apple watch

2016-08-11 Thread Caitlyn Furness
Well, it’s only a year old, so I hope not!

I took the watch off the charger, wore it today, then put it back on when I got
home. It made the usual connection sound, then I rushed over to my phone and
was able to do the software update to the watch OS. so, I hope this is the
last I’ll see of that message!

Re: device not supported by apple watch

2016-08-11 Thread Richard Turner
When that happens with an iPhone, it usually means that the cable is going bad,
or is not making a good connection. I suspect it is the same with the watch.

Re: device not supported by apple watch

2016-08-11 Thread Chris Chaffin
No, it would not be because you have not updated to the latest watch OS version.
I would suspect that maybe the charger is starting to go out.

You could always restart the watch and see if that helps.
