I don't have an answer. don't you have bigger battles with your soon
to be ex-spouse than haggling over the ownership of iPhone apps?

Hi,

Yes, if someone leaves the family sharing group, all content that they
purchased won’t be available to access by anyone else, but they can keep the
content they previously downloaded from that person.
And yes, I agree, that comment about the ex spouse was a bit rude.

RE: Family Sharing & ownership

2015-12-20 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I didn't see any reference in Traci's message about an ending relationship
unless I missed an earlier message. I guess Kelly has insight information or he
is the soon to be x-spouse he mentions. I'm not trying to moderate here, but
let's all remember that it is almost Christmas and while we still live in this
world where people are killed, go hungry, experience loss and pain, let's try
to show love and grace and also let's try not to judge. If Kelly is that "soon
to be x-spouse" I'm sure he feels hurt as does Traci, we don't know the
situation and there are always two sides to any coin and rarely is an ending
relationship only the fault of one partner. I always find it sad to see how two
people who once loved each other sometimes do anything to now hurt one another.
Of course through all the hurt we are still responsible for what we say and do
and there is no excuse for when the blows go too far below the belt line.

One thing I am sure of is that anything purchased using a gift card is that
person's own content and has nothing to do with the family sharing account
except that maybe it may not be available to the owner of the family group or
other members. If you buy a gift card and redeem it on your own Apple Id then
anything you buy with it is linked to your Apple ID.

Merry Christmas,
Sieghard

Family Sharing & ownership

2015-12-19 Thread Traci Duncan
Something I am still not clear about is the ownership of content. If the
someone leaves the family sharing group, does all content purchased under her
Apple ID go with her? I kind of thought the family sharing organizer owned all
content.

Since my family sharing group is 2 adults, I often buy iTunes gift cards, to
enable me to make purchases not tied to the organizer’s payment. I also
thought this was the way to insure I own the content.

Does anyone have a clear definition on this?

Thanks,
Traci
