RE: How can I make Voiceover output through attached Bluetooth speaker?

2023-12-31 Thread Alan Lemly
Many thanks to those who replied. Richard, you knocked it out of the park again
with your reply. I went to Settings, Bluetooth, placed focus on my connected
Tribit speaker, single finger swiped up to More info and double tapped, and
changed device type from speaker to headphones. No change was apparent
initially so I did a hard reset of my iPhone 13 Mini leaving the speaker turned
on and after I input my passcode, Voiceover was coming through the speaker as I
swiped through my home screen items. Books and other media still play through
the speaker as before after doing this.

Thanks again and here’s wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous new
year.

This is just a guess, but in your bluetooth settings on your phone, have you
tried flicking up on that speaker to more info and changing the type to
headphone? I'm thinking that would put all sound including VO through the
speaker.

Hi List,

Apologies for revisiting a previously discussed topic but as you know, audio
changes with these devices seem constant and not usually for the better in my
opinion. I’m running iOS 17.2 on an iPhone 13 Mini. If I want to share
something on my device with someone who also uses a screen reader and want
Voiceover to come through an attached Bluetooth Tribit MaxSound Plus Speaker,
is there a way to do this? I suspect the answer might vary depending on the
speaker being used. What I’m currently experiencing is that Voiceover is coming
through the iPhone’s built in speakers and audio from a book playing in BARD
Mobile or other media content such as music comes through the attached Tribit
speaker. Is there some sort of setting tweak I can make that will get me where
I want?

I welcome any suggestions or recommendations to resolve this and thanks in

Re: How can I make Voiceover output through attached Bluetooth speaker?

2023-12-31 Thread Chris Chaffin
This is what the audio destination is for on the rotor, but the last time I tried it, it was not working properly.  It is one of those rotor settings that shows up when necessary.  But that is the problem I have with it.  it does not show up in my rotor when audio is playing and connected to a bluetooth device.there is another setting in voiceover / audio, and lets you set the audio destination for both speech and sound.  But again, turning on or off the speech destination to the phone or bluetooth device makes no difference.  By the way, I have trouble just flicking to this setting on that screen, but after double tapping on audio, if you do a four finger tap at the bottom of your screen to go to the bottom, then you will land on it since it is the last setting on the screen. So there are current settings that is suppose to do what you want, but unfortunately, it seems to me that they are currently out of order.ChrisOn Dec 31, 2023, at 9:32 AM, Alan Lemly wrote:Hi List, Apologies for revisiting a previously discussed topic but as you know, audio changes with these devices seem constant and not usually for the better in my opinion. Also, what about the audio destination option in the roter? Doesn’t this
determine where the VoiceOver output is going? Unfortunately, I can’t test it
myself right now.

How can I make Voiceover output through attached Bluetooth speaker?

Voiceover is coming through the iPhone's built in speakers and audio from a
