How do I delete Audible books from my IPod 5th gen?

2013-08-30 Thread marie baisez
I don't use the Audible app. to read or manage the books simply because it is
not available on the app. store here in France. I can't find a way of deleting
the books from the Pod, there is no action choice in the rota even if I
highlight only a part of a specific book.
I can't find a way of deleting the books from ITunes either, can't find a list
of them, probably did once but couldn't find an option to delete anywhere.
Can anyone help?
The books I have read take a lot of room that I wish to use for something else
now.
Thank you in advance, cheers now,
Marie

RE: How do I delete Audible books from my IPod 5th gen?

2013-08-30 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Marie,

You can do this one of 2 ways:

1. If you hook your iPod up to iTunes and go to the Books section you
should have the following radio buttons (I assume you are using the latest
version of iTunes):

Audio Books

Books

PDFs

Authors

List

You should probably try and check Audio Books and then tab until you get to
a list view which should then list all your titles. You can now just press
the Delete key and should get the following message:

iTunes

Are you sure you want to delete the selected audiobook from your iTunes
library?

This audiobook will also be deleted from any iPod, iPhone, or iPad that
synchronizes with your iTunes library.

Do not ask me again checkbox, unchecked

Delete Audiobook Cancel

You can now check the "Do not ask me again" checkbox if you don't want this
warning to pop up next time, then press the Delete Audio Book button.

You may get another warning/prompt whether you want to move the book to the
recycle bin or keep it in your library and unless you want to completely
delete the book from your computer, I would of course keep it. Either way,
once you deleted the book, you can sync your iPod and it should be removed.

2. Go to your iPhone in iTunes, then tab past the Summary, Info, Apps,
Tones etc. radio buttons until you get to the Books radio button.

Check the Books radio button with the space bar and then continue to tab.

You will get to some other radio buttons like "Sync Books", "Sync All
Books",and then "Sync Audio Books" and "Sync Selected Audio Books".

If "Sync Audio Books" or "Sync Selected Audio Books is checked, you can
uncheck them and then sync your iPod and this should also remove the books
from your iPod, but it will keep them in your iTunes library should you want
to sync some books back at a later date.

If you check "Sync Selected Audio Books" you can tab a few more times and
you get to a treeview which should list all your books and each book should
have a checkbox.

If you maybe want to keep a couple of books on your iPod, you could uncheck
all the ones you don't want, then sync and only the ones you left checked
will remain.

This second method is probably better because the books stay in your iTunes
library where you can manage them at a later date.

This second method also is the same for music, tones, photos etc. You can
typically choose to "Sync All" or "Sync Selected" items whether it's music,
ringtones, books or photos and you have various choices how you want to do
this. In music, for example, if you choose to Sync Selected music, you can
then choose to check entire genres, albums, artists or playlists. With Tones
you can Sync Selected Tones and then you get a treeview with all your tones
and you can check the ones you want to sync.

Regards,

Sieghard

In my case, when you see the list of titles, you can use the flick down to
delete option. Then the message pops up asking you if you want to procede
bla-bla-bla.
