FW: How to change male to female voice in iPhone 4s!

2012-10-15 Thread Bhavesh
Hi folks,
Sorry for the last empty body nessage. I want to ask a couple of questions,
1. How can we change the voice from male to female voice without changing the
language, for instance if i have 2 female US VOICES, then how can i swich
between them?
2. By default, how many voices voiceover has without downloading additional
voices?
Thanks,
bhavesh

RE: How to change male to female voice in iPhone 4s!

2012-10-15 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hello bhavesh,

At this point Voiceover does not give you choices as to which voice you can
use other than the different English voices that are country specific, e.g.
US English (a female voice), British English (a male voice), Australian
English (a female voice) etc. There is no way to download additional voices
and I found that trying to, for example, change the default voice to
Australian English if you are in North America is more trouble than it's
worth. You can change it in the rotor, but then you don't get the high
quality voice and it will revert back to the default if you reboot your
phone. Only way to change the default voice I know of is to go into
Settings, General International and change your region to Australia,
but then this also does change the date format if you had it set to United
States before.

Regards,
Sieghard

Any idea how long it takes for the high quality voice to download?

Re: FW: How to change male to female voice in iPhone 4s!

2012-10-15 Thread BBS
Hi Bhavesh and Sieghard. Starting with Bhavesh, there's only one voice
per language. For example, if you use the US English Samantha voice,
then Samantha is the only voice for that language. Sieghard, you can
get a different high quality voice by changing your voice control voice
on an iPhone 4 or Siri voice on a 4S or 5. Unfortunately the thing I
don't like about iOS 6 is that once you change the high quality voice
you want to get in the voice control or Siri voice settings, and you
change the language in the Voiceover roater to the language with the
high quality voice, when you turn off Voiceover, it reverts back to the
default language and you have the compact version of that voice. I
think they should let us choose the voice control language as the
default voice rather than having us muck around with region settings and that.
