If you want to delete all the items in your Gmail account do this. Open your Gmail account. In the search field box at the top… paste this next line: in:inbox is:read All your 3,000 plus emails will disappear. Hi, Peter. I followed your instructions exactly as written. While the search screen had no messages, reloading gmail showed all of my messages still resting comfortably in the inbox. Any other ideas? the only way to deletethe email , oh I wish that you could do that, but you have to click on edit and tap each one you can only go to about 145 emails till you have to go the move box be sure that you put them into trash and not junk . putting them in junk will keep them out of the inbox so be care full as than you will have to do a search to find the ones that you want to keep.
