2014-07-16 Thread Alan Lemly
I'd strongly agree with Lois about sticking with Apple brand cables even if
they cost more. I've tried some of those third party after-market ones from
Amazon and believe me the ones I got were not worth their cheaper price. In
this case, you usually get what you pay for.

MonoPrice is great. They often have the best prices and sell quality
product. Their iOS app is more or less accessible too. It could use some
work, but you can order stuff through there. They also offer will call if
you happen to live close to a MonoPrice warehouse. This is what I usually
do. Order one day and pick up the order the next day.

Hi Jerry,

You said the following:
My lightning cable for my IPhone 4s is slowly going out on me.

If you have a 4S then you don't have a Lightning cable, but the older 30-Pin
cable. As others mentioned you can buy them at an Apple Store if you have
one nearby or the Apple Online Store, you can get them at most larger
electronics stores or on Amazon. I also like www.monoprice.com, they do sell
third party cables, but I bought several Lightning cables for my 5S and they
all work fine. A 10 foot Lightning cable from Monoprice was I believe about
$12 so if you want a 3 or 6 foot 30-Pin cable it would probably be $8 or
$10.

Best regards,
Sieghard

RE: I've just noticed that my lightning cable is slowly going out.

2014-07-16 Thread Bill Holton
If you have apple care, the cables are included. I hate those cables, and
have gone through four of them in two years, each was replaced free by Apple
under Apple care.

A 10 foot Lightning cable from Monoprice was I believe about
$12 so if you want a 3 or 6 foot 30-Pin cable it would probably be $8 or
$10.

Best regards,
Sieghard

Are they expensive or no?
Just curious.
I've never had to replace this form of cable that's why I'm asking.
Thanks

Hi Bill,

Maybe you should stop using them as dog leashes *smile*.
Seriously, I have had an iPhone 4, a 4S and now a 5S and in those 4 years I
had one cable go bad on me and it was a cheapo from Costco. Not a single
Apple 30-Pin or Lightning cable quit on me before.

RE: I've just noticed that my lightning cable is slowly going out.

2014-07-16 Thread Juan Hernandez
Yes, the stock cables that come with your idevice are not the best. The
casing, especially at the ends where the cable meets the plug tends to get
messed up. I like to buy other brand cables I can't think off the top of my
head, what bfrand they but there are others that are good. Oh, the cables
one can buy off the speed dots website are pretty good.

Best,
