Re: Looking for a good Bluetooth keyboard recommendation
I've never used it, but Jenny posted to the list recently about this keyboard. I'll put what she wrote in her message below. In the meantime I wanted to pass along a tip on a great little Bluetooth keyboard that costs half as much as the Logitech K810. It is the Sharkk 3.0 bluetooth keyboard. It is a tiny bit smaller than the Logitech and it supports all 3 operating systems, iOS, Windows and Android all on the one keyboard. You use simple commands to switch between them. Unlike the Logitech the function keys are regular function keys meaning if you use it with Windows keystrokes like alt+f4, insert+f11 etc all work where as on the Logitech you would need to download and install utility to make that work. It has great battery life and for those who want it it is back lit with a choice of 7 colors and brightnesses. Perhaps the best part is that it only costs $29.99. I own one and a friend of mine just got one and both he and his wife like it much better then the Rivo keyboard which they say is much to tiny. She says she wished she had one of these instead.Btw, it defaults to iOS for the keyboard configuration. I'm curious, how does it support all three operating systems? I always just assumed that any keyboard, it being standard and all, would support any operating system, and that the only difference between a keyboard for an IOS device and a keyboard for a Windows devices was the key caps. My friend who gave me this information is on this list, but is unable to post for some reason. He gets posts, but he cannot post. He has tried to contact moderators to no avail. Unfortunately, I know nothing about this little keyboard except for what he said. I'm sure he will send me more messages to post regarding it. I don't know if you can on the 810 without downloading a utility to do this. It was my friend who just told me about it, nad I don't know how he did that. He was also talking about a universal keyboard that changes on the fly. You can change between devices with the Logitech keyboard by using the F1, F2 or F3 function keys. You don't need to download any app to do this. I have this keyboard and switch between Windows 8.1 and IOS effortlessly. Hi Beth, Just yesterday or day before I posted some pro and con information about the Amazon Basics Bluetooth keyboard. You might want to look up Bluetooth keyboard in the list archives as there is tons, and tons of suggestions there as this question comes up frequently. As a means of collecting lots of great list information, I have made it a habit to copy to my clipboard utility what might be useful information for future use. This of course means I make it a habit to read all list messages so I don't miss anything important. Whenever I need to reference any information, I simply run a search within my clipboard manager, or I head to the ViPhone list archives and run a search there. So far, this technique has yielded great and instant results without having to ask the list the same question, at times only a day after the same information was just posted. Please let me know if you have any question about this suggestion as many others could benefit too. I'm not clear what you mean by Mac not using qwerty keyboard. The Mac uses the qwerty layout. There are some Voiceover functions that use the Apple conventions, too, no matter which keyboard you use.
