Re: Looking for brilliant commands for the iPhone

2013-08-02 Thread Arianna
Hello, Paul,

To answer your first question, if you are talking about the keys to either side
of the Braille line, (which are called command keys), then yes, they do perform
functions on your iDevice. The keys to the left of the Braille line, from top
to bottom are C1-3, and the ones to the right of the Braille line are C4-6. As
you can see, they are laid out like the two halves of a Braille cell. C1 and C4
move from one element to the next; they are equivalent to flicking right/left.
C2 and C5 pan the Braille line left/right. C3 and C6 move by the selected rotor
setting. Pressed together, C2-3 and C5-6 move to the previous/next rotor
setting.

To answer your second question, there are commands to move up/down a page;
pressing space with dots 3-4-5-6 will move you up a page, while pressing space
with dots 1-4-5-6 will move you down a page. I think you might remember these
better if you thought of the page down command as a D with an extra dot thrown
in. Then again, this might just confuse you.

I hope this has helped you. Here is a resource that you might find particularly
useful. iOS: Common Braille Commands for Navigating with VoiceOver

Thanks,
Ari

Hi. Is there a list of commands for using the brailliant bi 32 with the

I'm wondering if the function keys one through six do anything special or if
there is an easier way to switch between pages other than the O or OW chord.
 Thanks.
