Hello all,
I really like BSI for input on my iPhone. I do also like the features that
MBraille has but the $40 price for full access to the app is a bit pricy.

Whether BSI, M-Braille or Flicktype, any of these require you to understand how
they work and after that constant practice and not just for half an hour, but
for hours and hours. It's just like correct touch typing on a full-size
keyboard, some people can do 30 or 40 words a minute and others can do 100 or
more or, according to Wikipedia, 216 words a minute back in 1946 on an IBM
electric typewriter by Stella Pajunas-Garnand in Chicago.

Here is an interesting blog article from the "Das Keyboard" website:

MBraille, was RE: Lobbying Apple about FlickType

2021-08-23 Thread Richard Turner
MBraille is an app for writing braille on the screen like the Apple Braille
Input, though it has far more features. If you buy the full version, it can be
set as another keyboard; much like FlickType could be an extra keyboard.
It has lots of what he calls "dot commands," so that by brailling the braille
period dots 2,5,6 followed by sms then a contact or a phone number, you can
send whatever you had written as a text message.
Or, dot mail followed by a subject in quotes or just a contact or an email
address you can send a mail message, all from within the app.
Or of course, once the keyboard is up, you can switch to it and just write in
the body of a text or email.
Those are what I use the most, but you can also do web searches from the app,
add calendar events, and save notes to Dropbox and on, and on.

I'll start a new thread if this continues to not be about flicktype.
