Re: Making calls with added codes

2020-03-31 Thread Joy Cyr
I use a logitech K380 keyboard which doesn't have a keypad, however, I have
dialled and entered numbers using the number row at the top of the board
without a problem. A couple of times those numbers wouldn't work but I found
using the VO arrows to find the correct number on the phone and clicking on it
also worked fine.

Re: Making calls with added codes

2020-03-31 Thread Bill Gallik
If you are sure what information (numbers) will be prompted for you can always
set up a number with a comma (,) to incorporate a 3-second pause in the dialing
sequence. For example, if I want to get into one of my bank accounts to check
balances or transactions I would do the following:

Type in “Bank-by-Phone telephone number, for example:

800-935-9935 (digits only) to call into the bank.
Then follow the numeric string with a comma and the code number, in this case
“,1”

Then follow this with my account number and another comma, for example:
123456789,

usually, at this point the system will be prompting for an action code and will
allow you the time to enter that manually.

And, if a single comma proves to be inadequate you can always juxtapose a
second comma to the first to allow for a 6-second pause.

Yes,

You could set it up on your phone and then copy it and paste it in an Email and
they can either activate the number from the Email or put it in their contacts.

In the iPhone contacts, add the phone number as always, but then find the shift
key, which is in the lower left part of the phone keypad when you are entering
a number in a contact.

Tap that once and the 4 will now be a comma.

Repeat for as many commas as you think you will need before the code. Usually
2 or so works for me.

Then, enter the code, followed by the pound sign or number sign, you may need
to use the shift again and then the pound sign is below the 9, or is it in
place of the 9. Not sure right now.

Then, if it is like some systems I’ve used, there is a delay before the system
says press star to enter as host or pound to enter as guest.

I find two or three commas before another pound sign usually works fine.

Richard

Is there a way of getting this to happen? I was wondering if there was

Any ideas?

2020-03-31 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Anybody who needs to enter longer sets of numbers can always use a Bluetooth
keypad or look for a Bluetooth numeric pad specifically for this purpose.
I think this may be new in iOS 13, but I just tried this and it works
perfectly. I called my credit card company and at first I was asked to Press 1
for English and doing so on my Logitech K780's numeric pad worked. Then I was
asked to enter my 16-digit credit card number and once again typing it very
rapidly on the numeric pad on my keyboard and then pressing Shift + 3 on the
number row which is the pound symbol worked perfectly.

Best regards,
Sieghard

Pretty much the same way.

The commas determine the pause.

You may have to experiment with how many commas get the delay needed before
your account is entered, then again for the pause before the pin.

Subject: Making calls with added codes

Hi. I’m trying to have some people call into a conference call tomorrow, and
they’re using an iPhone. They’re not very good at dialing numbers quickly.
This conference call has a meeting code once they dial in the main phone number.
Is there a way of getting this to happen? I was wondering if there was
something equal to dialing a number with a bunch of commas in between the
number and code.
Any ideas?

Richard

Re: Making calls with added codes

2020-03-30 Thread PRAMIT BHARGAVA
Hi Jim,

There are two ways to automate dialing of an extension or meeting code,
using an iphone.
What they need to do it add the main phone under contacts and then tap the
Symbols button and do any of the following:

1. Tap Pause to enter a two-second pause (a two-second pause is represented
as a comma in the phone number).
2. Tap Wait to stop dialing until you tap Dial again (wait-to-dial is
represented as a semicolon in the phone number).

The best and the easiest that works for online meetings would be using
three commas.

Format should be "Main phone number three comma and meeting code" without
any spaces.

Hope this helps

Pramit
