Hi Richard, Hot damn, I think you naled it! I needed to have show as banner selected when I didn't have allow in notification center selected. OK, Under Settings, Notifications, mail, find the customize notifications button. There will be separate settings for each account if you have more than one account. You can assign a different sound for each account if you want, but you will want to be sure that Alert, Sounds, and Badges are on under this section. Find the Mail app. Flick to Allow in notification Center, if that says selected, double tap and it should no longer say selected. Back out of the settings, and that should fix it.
