I don't think so, OneDrive is set up to sync whatever is on your computer to
the cloud and also to sync that content to other devices you have. As you said,
Google Drive works the same way and so does Dropbox. With the capacity and
prices of hard drives these days not having enough storage on your PC should
not be a problem, it's usually not having enough cloud storage that is the
issue. Of course in another few years we probably all laugh at 10, 20 or 50 Gb
of cloud storage since companies like Dropbox and so on will have to follow
other companies like Microsoft OneDrive to remain competitive and cloud storage
will get bigger and cheaper just as local storage has done and continues to do.

When I bought my first 386 PC in 1989 I had a 70 Mb hard drive in it, mind
you it was 70 Mb not Gb. At the time I was in University and a lot of my
students still had 286 computers with 20 or 40 Mb drives.

I just checked the size of my Hell freezes Over album by the Eagles which I
ripped in iTunes Plus format at 256 Kbps and it is 139 Mb so back then I would
have filled up my entire hard drive with about 7 out of the 15 songs on that
album. Amazing.

Even spending $99 a year (just $8.25 a month) for 1 Tb of storage is pretty
attractive, but you also get full use of Office 2013 on up to 5 devices.
