I'm not sure I understand your question correctly, but if you're searching for
a way to get back to the message you've read in your indbox in the mail app,
you can do the 2 finger scrub gesture.

Doing a four finger tap at the top of the screen doesn't work as this takes
me to the first element of the screen usually the back button or the inbox
etc. I can do a three finger swipe which will move me one pagee at a time,
sometimes the item chooser works when you bring it up and look for topic. I
just wonderred if there was a better solutionn I'd not thought of?
