Not getting notifications on iPhone

2022-11-07 Thread Debbie Downey
Hello,

Suddenly today; my husband is not getting notifications on his iPhone. I get
many of the same notifications and am getting them.

Do not disturb is off and each of the apps that he gets notifications from
shows that they are still turned on.

Anyone have any other suggestions? He's got an iPhone 8 as do I.

Thank you!

Debbie

RE: Not getting notifications

2021-08-06 Thread Debby
Skipbo Solitare is a Blindfold game. Notice that the Solitare is spelled
differently than what I put in my original post. I checked the title on my
phone, and that is the spelling of I found. It says solitare, but you play it
against the computer. It is a bit complicated because you have 4 different
piles of cards that you play with. For me it's a bit addictive.

If you decide to try it and have any questions you can email me off list at
dm-h...@comcast.net.

Hi,

I have noticed that I only get the problem sometimes when playing the Skipbo
Solitaire game. I find that I am missing hearing text messages coming in. The
fastest solution for me has been to just clear the app switcher, turn off the
phone and then turn it back on. However, I am still running 14.6. I usually
only update when the phone tells me the update is available, and that hasn't
happened yet.

Take care and stay safe!

Hi all,

Thanks for responding to let me know you're facing the same issue.

I'll work with Apple's tech support to see if they can detect something going

am getting this issue, but only with messenger, and eBay notifications, and
again, have tried all sorts of things to fix it, but no joy.
whatsapp notifications sometimes work, but sometimes come through in
batches, so don't know what's going on there.

text notifications seem to be ok.
have had this for the last couple of IOS updates I think.

Yes. I have been having that problem for a couple of weeks. I am running
version 14.6. It comes and goes. I cannot duplicate it. It seems that the
only thing I can tail is if our hit the mute switch on the side to silence
the phone and then turn it back on the problem starts. I’m not sure what it
takes to fix it, but sometimes it seems to repair itself.

It does ring, but that's about the only notification that does anything.

I've called Apple Accessibility support on this issue, and we looked
everywhere in settings including notifications, sounds and haptics, do not
disturb, and VoiceOver settings. We verified I am running the latest iOS

not on silent.

The problem remains, and I was asked to call their tech support line with a

Is this happening to anyone else?

Something must have mucked up with 14.7 or 14.7.1. How it is that they unfix

2021-08-05 Thread Bobby Druesedow
Yes. I have been having that problem for a couple of weeks. I am running
version 14.6. It comes and goes. I cannot duplicate it. It seems that the only
thing I can tail is if our hit the mute switch on the side to silence the phone
and then turn it back on the problem starts. I’m not sure what it takes to fix
it, but sometimes it seems to repair itself.

It does ring, but that's about the only notification that does anything.

I've called Apple Accessibility support on this issue, and we looked everywhere
in settings including notifications, sounds and haptics, do not disturb, and
VoiceOver settings. We verified I am running the latest iOS release, and I am
indeed running 14.7.1. We double checked that my phone is not on silent.

The problem remains, and I was asked to call their tech support line with a
case number.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Thanks,

Antonio

It's in Voiceover Settings.
Remember you have a search box at the top of settings, if you know the name of
a setting but can't remember where it is all you have to do is type its name or
part of it in that search box.
In this case, if you type "Always" the setting you want is the second search
result. Once you find it, double tap on it and it will take you there, swipe
right once and Voiceover will tell you where to find it, in this case it will
say Accessibility > Voiceover.

Go to settings, Accessibility, VoiceOver, Always Speak Notifications and double
tap it to off.
That should stop all speaking of notifications.
Of course, that turns them off entirely.

Anyone have any suggestions?

RE: Getting notifications to not speak when talking on the iPhone

2019-11-22 Thread Carolyn
Mine comes on, or did, whenever I unlocked, when I'd wanting to know the time,
not some something from Apple News that I didn't care about. I found that, for
me, most annoying.

I looked for Always Speak Notifications in the Settings and on the Home Page

know I've seen it in there.

Anyone have any suggestions?
