I have the bluetooth model and find them useful. In my opinion, they are not
best suited for listening to music very often but do well for speach, for
example your phone, sat nav, the odd phone cal, sport etc.

Re: Opinions on Aftershocks headphones

2013-11-21 Thread Mike
They are pretty good headphones but definitely not for everything.
Like we’ve heard the rigidness can cause a few issues. I like to listen
to music or a book or something in bed at night and these make that near
impossible, or at least quite uncomfortable.
If you’re going to be up and about then they will probably be just fine.
I think I got a dud set though because only about a month after I got
them they just stopped working. I can hear them power on when I flip the switch
but I just get a strange clicking sound when I try to play anything through
them.
I liked them until they broke on me though. I used them a lot while
running.

There is an optional tension band that gives a snug fit. I need it because I

That and the fit. From what I've read, and very briefly experienced, the
more snug the fit, the better the quality. I don't know the technical
reasons, and I may be wrong, but that was my impression.

On another note, how do those of you who use the Bluez find the microphone?
Specifically, how is it when compared to the mic on the earbuds Apple
supplies with any iPhone?

The sound quality is excellent and I really like the controls. The

I ended up switching to an over the ear, one side bluetooth headphone.
I also have a problem with those because of waring hering aids and
dark glasses and ear rings. It ends up being a lot of what I call ear
gear. So the over the ear headset has to sit on top of my hearing aid
and doesn't fit very well. If I had large ears it would probably work
better but I am not willing to have my ears enlarged, lol.

Some kinds of hearing aids have a bluetooth piece that goes with them
that will connect the hearing aids to your phone via a little tag you
ware around your neck. Yay, less ear gear! However, they tend to be
rather expensive. I am looking into that solution.

Hope this info helps a bit.

Have a great day everyone! ☺

Phone processor seems to make a difference on the BT connectivity
issue. On the 5S I have no problems. On the 4S I definitely do.
They're not the best for music and probably won't be with the kind of
technology, but they're more than adequate and they're great for gPs.
If you have a slower phone, use the standard ones, the cord is really
long and you still have lots of flexibility.

I have heard that some batches of the bluetooth models had connectivity and
microphone issues, so Annie may have gotten a lemon. Annie, I'm not minimizing
your experience at all, and I strongly suggest you investigate a replacement or
refund. I only mention this to point out that there are known problems with
some of the line, but others work perfectly. Bluetooth connectivity problems
are not, to my knowledge, an across-the-board issue. I very much wish I could
add my personal experience to this discussion, but until I can come up with
$100 i don't need, I'm Aftershokz-less.

Hi, Chris,

I also have a pair of the AfterShokz headphones, the Bluetooth Model, and I
like them very much. They have a crispness to their sound, especially with
music, but I think the bass quality needs to be improved. I have other
Bluetooth headsets that have better quality as far as music is concerned. I
find the AfterShokz useful, especially at the gym, where I can talk with people
easier because of the bone conduction feature, not wearing the earpieces
directly on your ears. Just my opinion. Thanks.

Hi, about the after shokz headphones.
The only thing I didn't like is that they are ridgid and too large for
my head so when I ware a coat the part that went behinde my head would
bump up against my coat and/or jacket collar and then in tern bump the
ear pieces forward. That part was a bit aquord.

Also again due to the ridgidness they got broken in my backpack. Yeah,
that was my fault because I didn't put them in their case in my
backpack, but still part of the reality of having a set of ridgid
headphones..

The sound quality is excellent and I really like the controls. The
button to start and stop music is on the right side and the button to
answer and hang up calls is on the left side, so they are very easy to
opporate.

Have a great day everyone! ☺

Good evening everyone.
I am after opinions on Aftershocks headphones.
I am helping best friend and list member Hannah Day look into these as
she was informed by a mutual friend that they may suit her instead of
traditional headphones.
The reason she's looking into these is to enable her to wear headphones
despite her ears being vulnerable to infection.
She currently uses the speakers on her iPhone 4s. But while I can wear
traditional headphones only with hearing aids out, Hannah may not be
able to for it could put her at risk of ear infection.
I'm also interested myself as should they work for her I might check
them out for myself.
Any responses greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Kind regards
Chris.
